Hotel Penzance, hotel in Penzance

With wonderful views across Penzance Bay, Hotel Penzance offers award-winning cuisine and boutique bedrooms. Guests can relax in the swimming pool in the Mediterranean-style gardens.

I liked the quaintness of the building. The grounds were nice and the views from dining room, lounge and patio were fantastic. Room was clean and comfortable and serviced each day. Coffee, tea and snacks were provided which was a nice extra touch. Even though I had a more economical room, the view from windows was of a bamboo forest and flowers - very pleasant.

Quality hotel, spacious clean comfortable rooms, breakfast cooked to order, welcoming helpful staff. Old traditional hotel that had style. About a 15 minute walk from bus/rail station, but location is superb on promenade with views across to The Lizard and to Newlyn.

Easy self-check in even though we arrived late at night. Mike, Ally & Elvis are wonderful hosts. Mike recommended lots of places that we shouldn’t miss in Cornwall. Glad we got tickets for the Minack Theatre and explored the Gobal Telecommunications Museum, took the Coaster bus several tiimes, including to Land's End and walked the Coastal path to Sennen. Enjoyed the Penlee art gallery, especially in the midst of reading "Summer in February." Enjoyed a meal at the oldest pub, and at the Longboat Inn. The staff at the Info Centre were the best - gave us so many tips and set us on the right buses.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food. Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast. Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

Penzance is a small town which has many quirky shops, art galleries , restaurants and coffee shops. What does let it down is the amount of old falling apart buildings and many shop closures - not unlike most small towns in the UK at the moment and in need of council investment. A lot of people seemed to be on holiday although I would imagine it being much busier in summer, which is also a trend with the boom of holiday cottages in Cornwall. Hopefully Penzance does have enough locals living in it that it will still thrive and not just become a tourist town only like so many towns in Cornwall and around the UK as local communities are the heart and soul of what makes a town.

Very close to the excellent Praa sands beach. A modern and comfortable flat, fully equipped with everything needed for self-catering. Even some games in the living room cupboard. Very clean, and a very friendly and prompt service. Excellent location close to the beach, and in easy driving distance to supermarkets, to Penzance, the Penwith peninsula and to Porthleven. You can start walking the coast path straight from where you are towards Porthleven. To be warmly recommended. We had a great time!

We had a wonderful stay at the Bay Lodge. It was the perfect location from which to explore Penzance, St Michael’s Mount, Newlyn, and Mousehole. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and Clare thought of everything that we might need. It was an easy walk from the train station and a great central location. Breakfast was yummy and made to order!

Very cosy house. The owner thought of everything, the house has all you need for the holiday with family or friends, plus it’s pet friendly. This was our third time in Penzance, but first tending a cottage instead of hotel, and we will stick with cottage offers from now on :). Strongly recommend!
