Beds were comfortable and there was little noise from outside the building. Cooked breakfast (paid for separately) was good, but not exceptional, and poor value at £10 each.

Banbury itself is not the greatest spot (I used to live around the area for many years myself before moving away) however, there are so many other places to visit it doesn't matter. Banbury is excellent for grocery shopping with all tastes catered for and a range of supermarkets from Lidl up to Waitrose. Enjoy !

Banbury has a good shopping retail park called Gateway which is a drive away and on a bus route.
Town centre has lots of cafes, a few decent pubs and cocktail bars. Not sure about restaurants in the town but travel a few miles out of town , you’ll find some good pubs/ restaurants.
Lock29 in the shopping precinct is vibrant and a good choice of foods on offer by different vendors. Behind the precinct is the Banbury canal with a few food outlets, cinema and pub.

Came back for a family visit. I was born here. The town has grown, and along with it, the traffic, which is very heavy, but I suppose that comes with growth..
So many beautiful places to visit all within an easy drive of Banbury make it a n ideal location to stay.
We found great places for evening meals, light afternoon snacks, in fact so many we were amazed.

We were using Banbury as a base to visit relatives and did not explore Banbury in depth, so cannot give an authoritative view. It is actually a good base to visit places and is well positioned off the M40. (we moved on to a planned trip to Straford upon Avon after the 3 nights stay)

I liked Broughton Castle - very historic, just a short taxi ride outside town. I also enjoyed the museum and seeing the narrow boats tied up on the canal. I had a reasonably good meal of fish and chips at the Old Reine Deer Inn. Not much else to do in Banbury though.

Staff was great and very helpful.
Staff was great and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and tidy, room service every day. Great full english breakfast plus fruit, cereal, toast with tea and coffee. Only complaint I have is very low water pressure on garden view rooms.
The location was excellent, it was peaceful with pleasant views of the Peoples Park and a bowling green (apartment block right next to these). The shops and restaurants of Banbury were only a couple of minutes stroll away, through the Park. A petrol station just round the corner. Places of interest and other towns/cities not far away. The apartment was new and modern, good kitchen area. Our host was easy to contact and anxious that our needs/issues were addressed & took note of these.
Breakfast is the weak point. Booked hoping for options of a breakfast menu and hot fresh coffee and instead got shrink-qrapped croissant & muffins and coffee bag with a kettle that barely reached the power socket. What's more, there were staff mopping the floors in the morning but, despite there being a nice coffee machine on the bar, they would not/could not make guests coffee. Such a cute property that couldn't rustle up a quality breakfast was a major disappointment.
The location with lots of parking behind the hotel is perfect for walking to explore Banbury. Our high ceiling bedroom with large beams was very nice. The bathroom was very good with a good shower. The breakfast was very good with continental and full English on offer. We were shown a secret panel in a room that had a staircase which let upstairs-as this is a listed building the inside cannot be changed. The building is like stepping back in time.
The hotel was a very short walk into Banbury - no taxis needed . Banbury is also near lots of other lovely Cotswold villages . The B and B was lovely with everything you needed for a break . Sian , the owner , was very helpful indeed beforehand and very hospitable whilst there . She was really pleasant and always had time for a chat . Nothing was too much trouble . The breakfast was also excellent and set us up well for the airshow !
Room was as expected, clean and pleasant. The wine menu is amazing! So many great bottles to try. I tried to get a bottle ordered to my room for when me and my partner arrived back from the wedding however, they did not put the bottle in my room, yet added the bottle to my bill so I had to explain what happened and they were very helpful and took it off the bill. The location is stunning, very cute.
Ayman and Julie could not have been more friendly or helpful. They made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The Guest House was in a very good position, both for Cherwell Hospital and walking into Banbury centre. The room and facilities were very clean and comfortable. There was a good breakfast choice, and the cooked food was amazing. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
This apartment was modern, clean and welcoming. As we were using public transport to get to and from Banbury we found it convenient for a short walk to the railway station and also handy for the local buses.
The shower had good pressure with plenty of hot water.
The kitchen had all we needed although we ate out for supper. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and grocery shops close by.
Amazing breakfasts cooked by the wonderful hosts got me off to a fantastic start each morning. Free parking was a great addition for us. The hosts were very welcoming. I had to do remote work the day we checked out and they extended my check out as late as they could so I could work from my room but then generously let me l stay in their dining area to do work all day, no extra cost.
The location of this hotel from the main centre is excellent. The gentleman who I guess is the proprietor was very friendly. I liked the fact the our room was in the car park area as opposed to the main hotel. Also, if you're using the hotel as accommodation for going to a special event, there is an iron and ironing board which some hotels and B&B's lack.
Location excellent and the staff where really friendly, but the rooms are dated and tired and the back of the hotel isn’t in keeping with the rest of it. It’s a wonderful old building and to say it’s the oldest building in Banbury they could make a more in keeping job on the back building.
Lovely looking building tastefully decorated, uneven floors and wooden beams enhance the ambiance of this period building. Cannot fault the staff, professional and friendly, great customer service. Food at the hotel is worth having especially the warm pear, feta and honey open sandwich.
The whole lot. Bedroom very clean and bathroom very clean...
Breakfast was lovely, plenty choice.
Area was very good ..not far from town centre.
The hotel is absoutley stunning.
Host was fantastic, very poilte, friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was very nice. Waitresses very friendly. Restaurant dining area very clean and comfortable. Good location for hotel. Lovely village. Beds very comfy Good price. Check out was easy and friendly
The breakfast was good, I liked the fact that it was freshly cooked and tailored to my requirements. Everything else was pretty much as I hoped for. It was nice to stay in a hotel with character.
Convenient location for work. The food was excellent. The hot water for the bath and shower was hot as it should be, not like the nanny state Premier Inn who pre set the max temperature for you.
Quiet area, private parking, very friendly and helpful owners, great views and good facilities. Well worth a trip to Hook Norton Brewery for breakfast too.
