Great transport links. Ghost walk with the Happy Hangman and Stirling Jail were great. Some really interesting independent shops and a lot of charity shops, I really like charity shops for their diverse content.

Magical place - breathtakingly beautiful and no crowds - the locals are so nice. Killer views of Stirling Castle and the Scottish hills and valleys - the graveyard and old chapel were also fascinating and gorgeous, though sad as all graveyards tend to be. We had no idea Stirling would be so absolutely lovely.

    Such a wonderful town.

Such a wonderful town. So nice to be out of the big city into a smaller, quieter and quaint Scottish experience. People here are so friendly, so happy to help anytime. My hotel location was perfect, I could walk everywhere. I had free car parking which was brilliant. I found a gym nearby, I went on an awesome bicycle tour, I caught a train to Glasgow for the day. Everything was just perfect. I will be including Stirling again on all my Scottish holidays

Great historical city lots of great places and pubs, Distilleries and Castles! One thing while traveling around Scotland it is advisable to make Reservations at any and all places you want to visit, restaurants, Distilleries , tickets for attractions , we did some well in advance and some days before visiting that particular location. It worked well for us as the first question is do you have reservations?? They usually book up.

One of the better places on my road trip. Surprisingly friendly in an off beat genuine way. Close to the centre and cheap Indian restaurants. Good parking. Quite idiosyncratic and funny in lots of ways. Very good breakfast at an unbeatable price. I liked the wardrobe that did not have a door. Generally, I do not use hotel furniture because I am scared of leaving stuff behind. The area was full of old and interesting buildings. (Shame about the George Christie clock tower, that the Council demolished under cover of darkness).

Good value. Typical student accommodation with communal kitchen. Excellent shower. Although couple of miles from Stirling centre there are plenty of buses to the university. Recommend you get off at first stop and walk up to the accommodation area rather than get off at bus hub. Alternative to bus into Stirling is to walk to Bridge of Allan (about 20-25 minutes away) and take a train to Stirling or onwards to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Good pub (though not cheap) next to the university entrance. Also easy walk to Wallace Monument.
