Abbots Mead Hotel, hotel in Shrewsbury

In the heart of Shrewsbury town center, with free private parking and free Wi-Fi, this carefully preserved Georgian townhouse offers, 16 rooms with attached bathroom and a relaxing bar and lounge...

A lovely B&B, nicely decorated and in a great location at the bottom of town not far off the main street and close to several pubs and cafes. Clean and comfortable room, however two flights of stairs to the top floor can be a challenge for the elderly with luggage. Car parking available is a bonus but the limited spaces mean the hosts have to shuffle cars around which we didn't find to be a problem.

Prince Rupert Hotel, hotel in Shrewsbury

Well situated near the centre of town near to the main sites of interest. The food in the restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast (wide choice). The room was comfortable and looked out over a cobbled alley and you could see the church. Staff friendly and helpful Snooker room that we got to ourselves in the evening was a bonus.

To be honest, we made Shrewsbury a stop off point as we travelled to Wales for a weeks cottage holiday. We stopped on the 'way down' and on the 'way back', to break up long journeys. However, from our two half days in Shrewsbury it looks like a place for longer stays. The museum and art gallery were very interesting. The shopping areas were very good, with a good mix of larger names (M&S, Sea Salt, White Stuff ...) and independents. There were many eating places, but obviously we weren't able to make use of all but two in the town, both of which were very good. It looks like a place we will return to!

Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. Several places to park all within a short distance of the centre.

The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. Hidden in nooks and crannies are such delights as the old post office the old prison and boutiques. Don't miss The Dingle gardens as you take the walk.

Ideally located for visiting the historical and beautiful town of Shrewsbury .Although the hotel was on a main road there was no noise from traffic because of the double glazing. The room, a small suite, was comfortable . The main part of the total , The Abs, which was attached to the hotel is a vibrant and friendly place . The staff we friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend parking at the railway station a 5 minute walk and £6 for 24 hours. We will definitely be back . 😊

Excellent location very close to both the town centre and the park and river, also very quiet. The room was comfortable and decor good, not too bland, not too quirky. Nice garden setting, although it was too fresh for us to sit out. Excellent selection for breakfast and very nicely cooked. Staff friendly and helpful but not intrusive. I've stayed here before and will come again when we're in Shrewsbury. Thanks also for the flexibility you showed in changing our booking dates which was much appreciated.

Really good full English breakfast at a reasonable price. Small clean room with comfortable bed with adjustable heating and plenty of hot water for the bath. Curry and Steak nights with beer were excellent as was the Bingo Night on Thursday night which was packed with friendly locals. Staff friendly and helpful and pub directly connected to Hotel so getting to/from pub easy, beer price reasonable with discounted beer on Mondays. Close to Sainsburys, Home Bargains and Shrewsbury Abbey

The hotel is about 11 minutes drive from Shrewsbury town centre. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfortable. There was plenty of hit water and shampoo and body wash provided in dispensers. The inclusive breakfast was excellent. Nice and hot with plenty of choice. The burger, chips and salad we had in the evening was very tasty.

Comfortable and quirky hotel with a good, friendly, youthful atmosphere. Pleasant rooms with a very comfortable bed and all of the necessary facilities and a popular wine/cocktail bar area. Good location a little off Shrewsbury town centre but very short walks to excellent pubs and restaurants, and the riverside walk. A gem.

Location in fields just on the Northern Edge of Shrewsbury is extremely peaceful. Rooms were furnished with 2 chairs as well as a bed. (If you want to lie on the bed in front of a giant TV, this isn't for you.) Despite the room being in a modern building its didn't feel like a chain hotel,
