I’ve been in Rome many times. I find that my stay is never long enough. I find myself wanting to go back again and again to explore and experience the city that I haven’t yet seen. The food is exceptional, the sights are amazing and the people are great.

It was extremely hot, but we knew it would be.

It was extremely hot, but we knew it would be. There is cheap transport 1€ for trains. There are lots of free water fountains everywhere so you can fill up your water bottles. It did not smell of drains like some cities. You could walk to different attractions easily. A lot of people spoke some English. They were polite and welcoming. The Sistine chapel is VERY crowded and there is a lot to see in the different rooms and outdoor areas. Make a day of it. Free water fountains in the plaza. You must remember to bring ID for the Colosseum. Especially children or you cannot get in. We ticked off all our list of things we wanted to do and eat. Lovely pizza restaurants, bakeries, cafes, ice creams. There is a huge choice and they are friendly. The streets are clean, do not smell, and there are lots of free water fountains. The transport is quite easy to follow and CHEAP.

My impression of Rome was very positive—there was so much to see and far too little time to take it all in. I especially loved how the evenings cooled after the hot days, making it perfect for strolling. We stayed in Trastevere, which was full of great eating spots, charming streets, and attractions we could walk to. And yes—the gelato was amazing. If you plan to explore on foot, bring a water bottle; the city has plenty of public fountains with safe, drinkable water, so there’s no need to buy bottled water. Uber is pricey, but getting around is easy. Depending on your hotel location, you can walk to many attractions or take the bus. We used Google Maps for both walking and public transport—just enter your destination, choose the bus option, filter by your preferred mode (bus or train), and you’ll see the stop location and bus number. You can pay directly on the bus with a credit card. Be aware that many attractions are crowded, and you should be prepared to stand in line unless you make early reservations. If possible, hire a tour guide—you’ll skip some of the wait and gain valuable history and background information that truly enriches the experience. We were also impressed by how clean the city was, especially considering the large number of daily tourists. Rome left us with wonderful memories and a desire to return.

    Rome is eternal.

Rome is eternal. It doesn't need my recommendation to be visited — all roads already lead to it. Incredibly beautiful, it breathes history at every corner. However, in August, the heat is intense and the city is crowded. The scarcity of trees makes the sun even more present, and what saves us are the countless fresh water fountains scattered throughout the streets. Every corner and every experience is worth it, but perhaps this certainty of being eternally desired means that locals don't always feel the need to win over visitors with the same dedication seen in less famous destinations.

I went for 3 nights and perhaps needed another night or 2 see everything. I did expect better food though. The city is more than beautiful and probably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Gelato Gelato Gelato! Food though is not as I expected. There are better PIzzas and Pastas in other cities in Italy and in SPAIN.

This guesthouse was one of the best places I stayed in during my trip to Italy. The hosts were very kind and responsive. The guesthouse is located a few minutes from the Vatican and it is also close to the subway so you can easily access other sites within Rome from here. There are also some very nice restaurants nearby. The guesthouse was very clean and tastefully decorated. They had. kettle, tea and a coffee machine in the room. I would high recommend it.

    - lovely staff (Alberto is great, very helpful and nice) - location is close to train station (easy to get to/from airport) and metro (easy to get to/from most attractions in Rome, and the Termini train station if you plan on visiting other cities in Italy), and a short walk to Vatican - breakfast (yes, it is from the nearby La Siciliana cafe, and yes it is 1 croissant and coffee) is the BEST, it's so good we even went there for things other than breakfast

This was the best place we stayed in Italy. Nice and new, modern and contemporary. Felt extremely clean, comfortable beds and we were lucky enough to have a view of Piazza Venezia from our room. Great location, we walked everywhere and didn’t have to use public transport once. Plus the breakfast! Pietro really went the extra mile to make breakfast each morning that bit special. Will definitely be back when we return to Rome.
