A very beautiful setting, warm and welcoming staff and a spacious, well built establishment and very clean.

The staff (especially Enrica) was absolutely incredible - very helpful and welcoming, especially when helping us deal with parking in the city. We had to shift hotels early in our stay, and we're very glad we stayed at here. The hotel was in a very walkable location, both to the older walled city and outside to more casual restaurants and bars. We also had an amazing view of the countryside from our room.

Great old city to walk. Lots of steep climbs that are totally worth the effort. Every restaurant we tried was excellent and reasonably priced. Our favorite was the Chianina Station sitting outside on their patio.
We spent 3 days and used it as a place to stage short trips to wineries around the area. Just a great place to explore and chill.

Montepulciano is a charming town, and was very welcoming to my family. We had a great time exploring the city, and visiting the wine shops, restaurants, and stores. Definitely climb the tower at the top of the city, the view is breathtaking.
But be prepared to walk uphill, a lot. This town, as I am sure is the case with many other hill towns in Tuscany, is not friendly to people with walking disabilities, and only permitted cars are allowed in the city walls. If you are driving in from the surrounding area for a day visit, plan to arrive earlier in the morning as parking is a challenge. Staying in the city was a treat, but I wouldn't do it for more than a few days as leaving the city and finding parking again on your return is a challenge at best.

History and historic wines combine in Montepulciano.
History and historic wines combine in Montepulciano. My husband and I are sommeliers, art and history lovers. This town delivers on all scores and the locals are incredibly inviting and friendly - even more than the typical Italian standard. This town constantly has cultural and musical events, some serious and others simply fun in nature. Wineries close by, and the wine bars, closer.

Montepulciano is beautiful and old and hilly and kind of mysterious. It's fun to walk around – although your legs get sore! All the old buildings and streets and alleys were super cool. It was also great being in the heart of wine country. We'd heard a lot about Italian hospitality but didn't get a whole lot of that – it was still fun to explore ourselves, thpough.

The setting was breathtaking.
The setting was breathtaking. The accommodation was picture book perfect and included free parking! The views from the bell tower, directly across the piazza, made the climb worth every step! Highly recommended but allow yourself a minimum of a two night stay!

We had the great fortune of stumbling into the start of their week-long Bravio delle Botti festivities in which the neighborhoods compete against one another to roll wine barrels up the steep streets of the historical center. We got to see fantastic performances by the drum and flagwaving groups, have fantastic dinners put on by each of the 8 neighborhoods (contrade), and enjoy some shows put on in the Piazza Grande. The town itself is steep and filled with cantinas. Gorgeous historical hill town surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. It's Tuscany at its finest. Fairly well touristed, so be cognizant of prices and a few tourist traps, but otherwise very pleasant.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The pictures dont do it justice. It’s even more beautiful in real life. Wonderful restaurant with a terrace and a olive garden with some of the best food we had in Italy. A pool with a breathtaking view of the vineyards. the whole property is just a wonder. And also the owners and people who work there are wonderful. Especially Andrea. He helped us with everthing we needed and made our stay so pleasant. we are definently coming back! Dont hesitate, book this place and not a hotel. You will not regret it.
The accomodation is ideally located at the foot of Montepulciano (5 minute ride). The accomodation and surrounding garden were huge (for the two of us) and all required facilities were accounted for. We were well received by the owners, who are very friendly and took the time to run us through all the items at the accommodation.
A plus for us, having travelled quite a bit through Italy and stayed at various locations, was how quiet the area is.
An ideal location to explore the surrounding area and get a good rest.
Very friendly welcome by the owners, a retired Indian couple with an interesting backstory. Clean rooms, tasty breakfast. The eating area and swimming pool share the amazing views on the winery and Montepulciano on top the hill. We did a winetour and tasting with the owner, who produces completely biological. The wine was excellent so we went home with a few boxes in the car. There’s a folder with activities and recommendations in the area, all tested by the owners, the ones we tried were well worth.
Beautiful apartment with lots of character. Loved the stone walls and everything about this place! Excellent location with everything within walking distance. Parking was nearby but still required you to navigate your luggage on the hilly roads. This is not a complaint, just a statement, as the whole town of Montepulciano is on a hill. Breathtaking views and overall a magnificent place to stay and visit. I've been all over Italy and this was one of my favorite spots of all! 10 stars!
One of the most beautiful accommodations I’ve ever been to. The location is incredible with views of Montepulciano, best enjoyed from the hot tub in the yard :) The room was super spacious, nice touches all over, nothing to complain about. Definitely take advantage of the winery tour included in the price of the stay, it was great. All of the staff were nice, welcoming and very helpful. I will absolutely come back to Salchetto.
This is a lovely family-owned farm with a nice restaurant and a lovely view! Especially at sunset. Our a/c was giving problems and they attended to it immediately. And went out of their way to help us when we needed early checkout. It is close enough to Montepulciano, but you need a car. This was not a problem for us. One of the highlights of my trip to Italy!
The location is fantastic - right in the central square. The entire apartment was extremely clean. We found it to be more spacious than we were expecting. We had a great time - and the apartment was our favorite place we stayed over the course of our entire time in Italy. I would definitely recommend.
The hotel is a peaceful and picturesque escape close to montepulciano. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff, our room was spacious and clean, and a delicious breakfast was also included. Overall, it was a great experience, and I look forward to returning next time I visit Italy.
The location is perfectly in the center of Montepulciano and the price is relatively low. There is everything needed available in the room including shampoos. The hotel provides a close by car park which is great and you could also enter the inner city to not carry your luggages uphill.
Everything! Our favourite place to stay during our trip to Italy. Amazing view, the bed was so comfortable, good water pressure in the shower. It had everything we needed and the host was so kind. We also loved the little dog who lived on the property :)
Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. The
Location is perfect just 25 minutes walk from the center of Montepulciano, by car there are plenty of parking Spaces specially this time of the year. We will certainly return.
The position of the hotel is wonderful! Right in the heart of Montepulciano old city. Close to all the streets and small shops everywhere. The hosts, Roberto and Mrs Rockefeller are amaizing! Grazie tanto!
Very cute and cozy hotel with private upstairs balcony. Very convenient being on the main artery of Montepulciano. Amedeo and his wife were gracious hosts, helping us to get a bag for carrying loose items.
The bed was very comfortable and had
lots of pillows (unlike most other places in Italy where we’ve stayed!). The bathroom was gorgeous and very clean, with nice toiletries and slippers.
The location was amazing and the flat was perfect. 2 weeks in Italy and this was by far our favourite place, if we came back to montepulciano we'd stay in the same place
Everything was wonderful! The stay absolutely was the highlight of my trip to Italy. The breakfast was awesome and the hospitality out of this world. Thanks!
