Practical and convenient for what we wanted: to stay one day in Naples for a tour of Pompeii and leave next day on an early flight. The staff were helpful in helping us get around. We were also happy the hotel offered a small gym, and that we wree able to get something to eat at any time of day.

Great location in the historic center of Naples. The room we stayed in was well set up for longer stays, as it has a small kitchen and a lot of functional storage space. The atrium area was a pleasant place to have a drink or just hang out.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Naples My wife and I had a truly wonderful stay at this charming little hotel in Naples. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, with everything you need just a short walk away. We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius… breathtaking. The hotel has only eight rooms, which gives it a cozy, boutique feel, like a little jewelry box. The entire staff was attentive, kind, and highly professional. We especially enjoyed chatting with Francesca, who took the time to share more about the area with us. Her warmth and attention made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and complete — we never felt like anything was missing. As for food outside the hotel, there are so many great places nearby, especially in the Borgo Marinario area, where we had fantastic meals beyond just the (already amazing) pizza. If I had to mention one small downside, it would be the elevator — it’s quite small and a bit slow. But honestly, everything else was so exceptional that it hardly mattered. We would absolutely stay here again — and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Naples!

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

    Parking almost impossible or in remote places where I wouldn't leave my car. The craziest drivers in the world - I drove my car in Naples and was very worried about it. If you don't have enough driving experience, I wouldn't recommend driving in this area. I didn't like Naples very much because I found it so scary and dark.

    We enjoyed our stay in Naples very much.

    We enjoyed our stay in Naples very much. The old town, Piazza del Plebiscito, Spaccanapoli, Spanish quarters and Naples underground made a big impression. The food were very nice, especially the pizza at Da Michele; it was out of this world. It was easy to get around in Naples. We walked alot but also used the metro and funicular to get to places on our sightseeing list. We will be back.

    Beautiful and lively city.

    Beautiful and lively city. Plenty to see for people interested in art and archaeology, such as Roman art and Neapolitan baroque painting. Very good museums and destinations for day trips. Lovely food as well with good options for people who need glutenfree. One caveat though: don´t wait for buses, they don´t exist. The tube is good though. Be prepared to do lots of walking.

    "See Naples and die" was likely true in the days when it was written (J W Goethe); in the meantime the views of the bay and hills are dominated by unimpressive architecture. A lively/chaotic city; as a tourist, expect to be overcharged/scammed at every corner, from espresso bars to supermarkets, unless prices are posted and receipts printed. If you worship Maradona, you'll be in your element - otherwise you'll wonder what else does the city have to offer or care about. Worth visiting to have an opinion, but not high on my list of places to revisit in Italy (vs e.g. Rome, Bari, or Cagliari)

    Naples gets a bad reputation as I think people are trying to compare it to Rome or Florence. It is its own city with its own vibrant people and amazing history and food. I'd stay forever if I could. Also, a whole pizza costs like $6... one that would be niche in the US as a "Neopolitan Pizza" and would cost $20. You can pretty much walk into any cafe or bar and have great apertivi or cena (dinner). There are tons of museums (if you haven't seen the veiled Christ, you are missing out). Naples stole my heart and soul and I can't wait to return.

    Nice and clean hotel. Staff were very welcoming and restaurant staff were exceptional. The location is great, round the corner from the stations where u can get trains to explore Naples and the rest of Italy if you want to. I would definitely book here again. Room was spacious, airy and very clean and we got our request for a disabled room for my 81 year old mum. Rooms were very comfortable.

    The location was excellent, right next to the main transport hubs and a very short walk to Piazza Garibaldi and many restaurants. The beds were extremely comfortable. In spite of the chaos and noise outside, inside the guesthouse was all peace and tranquility. Naples as a whole is chaotic and the traffic horrendous but summed up it was Italy au naturel and not all overrun by tourists.
