I was only in Amsterdam for 24 hours for a cultural event, but still found time to walk round the lovely Vondelpark, so close to the hotel. It took over 2 hours to get the Radisson Blu from Airport due to idiotic elimination of the ability to travel by car in and around Amsterdam. Very picturesque and well manicured. Easy going, walkable, cultured. The food scene is multi culture. Sometimes hard to find authentic Dutch cuisine. Museums, buy your tickets to the Van gogh museum months ahead ,windmills tours, coffee shops, canals, bicycles, everything I expected and more. The city of Amsterdam is beautiful. I was very impressed by its network of different modes of transportation and how they all linked up together, making travel very easy. I found the people very pleasant and willing to help out-of-towners navigate the city.
