Breakfast wasn't included but the staff, the Theakstons Beer and the entertainment (quiz) were first class. Despite the sub zero temperatures outside the accommodation was warm as toast.

The room was beautiful and clean. The staff was extremely friendly. When I arrived too late to eat dinner in their restaurant, they called another restaurant for me and arranged a reservation. They also upgraded my room due to availability without me asking. They were wonderful.

A lovely stay in the town of Moffat. The breakfast was really great! Only thing I wanted to note is they only accept bank transfer or cash. I luckily had cash. I must have missed it somewhere in the listing!

All in all it was the most pleasant and perfect stay and experience to us.We felt there was no bad bits about the place, but is was tastefully decorated and restored environment, going respectfully with the historical era of the building. Delicious food, well thought out everything about customers stay. Many thanks and warm recommendations.

Moffat is a lovely little town with many quirky shops and quite a few short local walks for the adventurers also there are longer walks for the more adventurist especially a 10 mile drive to the The Grey Mares Tail is well worth a visit but the road to it is very narrow in places

All the good things that other reviewers have said are true - this is a superb hotel. I don't want to just repeat what others have said but in summary - high standard of cleanliness, beautiful accommodation and outside space, delicious food, etc - but I'd like to focus on the staff.
We've stayed in hotels all over the world from the Hotel Jellyfish in Nepal ($1 a night) to the Waldorf Astoria in New York and I think what elevates a good hotel into a great hotel is the quality of the staff. At Moffat House the staff are exceptional. Every staff member we've met has been friendly and helpful. Even our dog has been fussed over by the staff. It all felt very welcoming.
We had a very pleasant, relaxing time time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moffat House Hotel.
Daisy Cottage is perfectly located for exploring Moffat on foot. The owner had provided lots of useful information which meant that, although I'd visited Moffat frequently, I was able to see a lot more of this lovely town, which greatly enhanced the stay.
My kids loved the place, especially the kitchen and "nested" (settled in) easily on arrival. The beds and living room seating were comfortable and everything was easy to find and operate.
A place I'd recommend for groups of up to four people and families.
Only a short walk from the centre of Moffat and a mile from the A74(M), the cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had a well-stocked fridge. A delicious, hot breakfast was brought to the cottage by Maureen who couldn't have done more to make the stay memorable. On our tours to Scotland we always start and end up in Moffat and will now hope that Groom's Cottage is available when we plan our next one.
Incredibly knowledgeable host who was very attentive to our needs and gave us a super insight to Moffatt and Kirkview House. Especially so as he was going through a disruptive few days with the Water Board in the house fixing a problem with the adjoining property. John still managed to smile and cook breakfast unperturbed by it all! Gorgeous room and facilities, he should be proud of all he has achieved.
Our 4th stay at this hotel whilst on motorbike tours of Scotland. Dave and his family and team know just what bikers, walkers and cyclists need. There is everything you could wish for, from garages for the bikes, to a drying room for wet clothes, cleaning and maintenance facilities and a wealth of local knowledge. The food is also superb and freshly home-cooked. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very well equipped, comfortable and spacious. We ate in the hotel in the evening, good straightforward pub food, and plenty of choice. And an there was an excellent breakfast the following morning. It is right in the middle of Moffat, so well placed for visiting this very charming town and area.
Moffat is a great location and the hotel is right in the heart of the town. The hotel has recently had a complete make over and the decor and the facilities were excellent. The room was spacious and had 2 comfy armchairs so we could watch the flat-screen TV in comfort in the evening. We chose a full English breakfast in the morning which was delicious.
The breakfast was superb. With a choice of fruit or cereal to start with and yoghurt. Followed by a full cooked plate. Very tasty sausages. Toast with locally produced jam and good coffee. Really friendly and welcoming. Good stop off for travelling to and from Scotland. Moffat hills to be explored along with an interesting town centre.
A very traditional hotel which might not suit people wanting a modern style, but which is perfectly situated right in the centre of the lovely town of Moffat and ideal for exploring the surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay there, and what made our stay even better was the staff, who were so lovely and helpful. We'd stay there again.
Beautifully cooked and served traditional Scottish breakfast. The location was good, being on a quiet road with country views, and accessible for the town. As seniors it was a little too far for us to walk into Moffat , but no problem for younger legs. We received a warm welcome and the hospitality was friendly.
The position of the hotel is lovely, access into Moffat is 5 minutes stroll down hill.
We received a lovely welcome, everywhere was very clean, room had a beautiful view, a big comfortable bed and a very nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend eating in the restaurant.
Menu is very good, make sure you're hungry when you arrive so you can sample the food. 100% caters for the bikers needs, outstanding facilities and bike security, means you can relax in lovely surroundings and your pride and joy is safe.
We stayed in the superior room, it was huge! The bathroom was amazing with a roll top bath and walk in shower, it felt like a 4/5 star hotel (with bunkbeds) We would definitely recommend this place for families and definitely stay again.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.
Location good as is breakfast in hotel. Fact we were allocated cottage room, lots of space. Moffat really good location less than 2hrs drive from our home in Ayrshire.
A great stopover in Moffat on our drive up to Scotland. The room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. John made us feel at home and made a lovely breakfast.
Very clean and spacious room. Perfect for a family group. Fabulous evening meal in the hotel restaurant. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. couldn’t be better!
Beautiful building and surrounding area. Comfortable room with lovely views. Breakfast was high quality. Great location just minutes walk into Moffat high street.
