Everything was wonderful! Anne and John made us feel at home and made my mum's birthday so much more special. We loved all the little touches and the breakfasts were gorgeous and kept us going for most of the day! The location is perfect for walking into Matlock and the train station is so close too for little day trips. They were very helpful in recommending places to visit and eat and for accommodating us when we had an early check-in. the room was sparkling clean and comfortable. We loved it and felt safe there.

Matlock is lovely, a few shops and good selection of bars and restaurants. We found a good walk along the cliff top and into Matlock Bath. Matlock Bath is very busy, buzzing with motor bikers, great atmosphere, a couple of pubs and a lot of Fish and Chip shops!!

Lovely riverside walks. Heights of Abraham worth a visit. Can get busy there in summer. Limited food outlets in Matlock Bath, mostly fish and chips. Lots of motorbikes when the weather is good so traffic held up. Easily accessible by train from Derby and bus from Sheffield only cost £2.00

Matlock Bath has 24 fish & chip shops (!!!), a couple of traditional pubs and an excellent Indian restaurant, The Balti. For fine dining, go to Stones in Matlock itself. Fabulous! Traffic is awful at weekends and especially Bank Holidays. Cromford Mill is a must visit (with the volunteer tour guide). Famous bookshop and great Chocolate Shop also in Cromford.

Unfortunately we were here for a family funeral. We have been to Matlock and the surrounding area before and would certainly stay at this accommodation again. It was very central. This is an ideal location to travel around and is very cost effective.

Matlock Bath is such a beautiful place , the views, the walks, and a lovely restaurant called The Seafood Cave and Grill. The food here was omg so fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, not cheap but worth a visit. Some of the other local pubs ran out of food on a Saturday afternoon which baffled us to be honest? Lots of fish and chips available which seem to appeal to motorcycles. The walks are beautiful and the heights of Abraham are well worth a visit.

Studio 2 provided a great little stay for one night, all the facilities you would need were there and it was clear the owners had thought about this. The owners had warned us about road noise but honestly after around 10pm there was very little and we both slept well after a day of hiking and eating too much food. The studio is perfectly situated for walking into the centre of Matlock and getting parked on a side road was really easy, even on a BH.

Hodgkinson's Hotel is situated on a busy main road in the centre of Matlock Bath. There is limited parking for 4 cars in an adjacent road and up a steep hill. This is manageable if you have a good level of fitness. You can drop your bags at the hotel first, although you will be on double yellow lines and blocking the road. The Hotel is a beautiful character building, both inside and out, so understandably the interior can look a bit tired in places.

Beautiful main building and lovely modern decor in restaurant/ bar. Beautiful surroundings and great location to Matlock Bath town. Food was good- we had breakfast included although limited options. We also had afternoon tea and A La Carte menu. Nice touch with complimentary glass of Prosecco which was unexpected. On the surface the hotel is very pleasant and has a lot of potential just more attention to detail required.

The location gave us amazing views over the Derbyshire dales. Was aware it was up a hill, but my goodness it was a long steep hill!! But car was used to go back and forth to the town centre. It was worth it for the views we were rewarded with. The owners are lucky to have ellie as a neighbour as she was very helpful in giving us info as to the area and places to eat. Also lovely chatty person.

Great location. It is a short walk down the road to the town and local restaurants/hotels. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and full of character-beamed ceilings, roll-top bath, etc.. It is also meticulously clean. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped with a good supply of delicious snacks. The owner was extremely accommodating when we thought we would arrive earlier than the check-in time. Thanks!

Rooms were well located, away from the main pub so no noise from the bar. Great for travelling with dogs. Being located away from the town centre is both a pro and con as Matlock is very steep however the bus stops right outside the car park should you not wish to walk back up from the town.
