The apartment was beyond my expectations in every aspect. Excellent communication from the host in collecting keys. The apartment was very clean and tidy and was very well appointed. There is nothing I could fault. I loved the shower in the bathroom. The lounge area was certainly bigger than expected which was great. I would certainly stay here again and I think the apartment is suitable for both business travelers and people wanting to spend a holiday in Dorset. There are plenty of car parks nearby the property so I had no issue parking. The fact that they were free from 6pm to 8pm was certainly a bonus. The one I used was Durngate Street car park which is actually visible from the lounge and bedroom windows of the apartment. The parking spaces are narrow in Durngate Street car park but everyone that parked there did park nicely so I had no issues getting in and out the car.

Dorchester is a quaint town that is always a pleasure to visit. It has a brilliant market and there are plenty of shops to visit. It it well served with different museums and the Tutankhamun and Terracotta Army ones are a definite visit for me. There are also plenty of cafes to have some amazing food.

Dorchester is far too quiet, we tried to get a drink in a hotel bar at 10pm and they had shut. All of the other pubs were shut too. Where we parked our car, several drunk men were staggering around, and this was at 2:30pm.

I have been a member of the Museum for 40 years so loved seeing all the new building and clarity of the modern lay-out. My passion for the iconic water-meadows of the wonderful River Frome gave me hours of searching out the old archaeological sites and remnants of the historic sluices. The restaurants are plentiful and all different which makes eating out an event. The X Jurassic coast buses are a wonderful way to see the rest of Dorset and the famous Hardy country. I defy anyone to be at a loss when visiting that ancient literary and agriculturally unique part of Dorset.

Dorchester was everything we wanted- we visited Poundbury as friends recommended it. We were pleased we went but wouldn't go back again as there were so many places around just as enjoyable. Dorchester and surroundings were a joy but finding the jewel in the countryside the amazing The New Inn, in West Knighton made it special for us

Dorchester has wonderful architecture and history.

Dorchester has wonderful architecture and history. Many beautiful places to visit without needing to use the car. Walking the path along the River Frome from Hangman’s Cottage to Fordington is very tranquil with benches to stop and sit to view the wildlife. One must view the Roman villa that is displayed behind the County Hall.
