East Horsley is a beautiful place.
East Horsley is a beautiful place. Its not far to go in to the town Guildford if you want to do any shopping. We went to Adam Aaronson's Glass Blowing Studio in West Horsley which is only down the road approx 2 mile and had a class there. You can make different pieces from a tumbler to a scent bottle. There is larger pieces but obviously goes up in price for the class. Really good if you want something different to do. There is also a Garden Centre next door to this. There is a lovely little pub just down the road from the Thatchers Hotel if you wanted to try a different menu. We had an evening meal in there and it was very nice. Food was good, staff very slow, we waited half an hour for breakfast and coffee, I had to remind them of our order due to wedding. Cleaning staff had to help clear the tables. I was visiting my parents, so not as a tourist.
I was visiting my parents, so not as a tourist. There are lovely walks nearby and the roads are popular with cyclists. The local shops (those at walking distance from the hotel) are friendly You can get a good Indian meal at Yasmin. The Italian Cafe/Deli (Annare?) is good, with some tempting treats. It's very popular and rightly so. There are buses to Guildford. It's quite a distance to the railway station, and don't expect a lot of taxis. It was quite in a great location although some road noise from road in front of hotel but not a problem. Lovely relaxed bar area with lovely outside seating for the right weather. Apparently it’s going through a refit and we had a refitted room so unsure what unfinished rooms would be like. That said unless full expect you would be given a refitted room. All the staff are really friendly and helpful, the food is quite good and everything is really good value.
