Loved staying here, the Dog house has so many different quirky extras that make it feel like so much more than a hotel. The room itself was spotless and so well looked after, the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Will be back soon with the dog next time! 🐶 Thank you Doghouse! 10/10!

Everything. After 2 weeks driving around in Scotland, I can say this was the best hotel we experienced. You can walk to the city centre or take a bus. The bed is super comfortable (best one we had). The room is well decorated and big enough. And the staff is very friendly and professional. Go the pub next door, you won't be disappointed :) In short: we loved it.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Walk through the Royal mile, discover the ''hidden gates'' and underground cities. Worth to check The World's End pub and Devil's Advocate (at Advocate's gate) Try out local pub food. Try out local whiskeys and learn 5 beautiful regions of Scotland where they produce the whiskeys. (and buy 1 or 2 to take back home) If you love Harry potter , you will be amused in this city. And if time allows , i strongly reco to take a Highland tour, worth to visit.

Have always loved Edinburgh and have done the Tattoo several times. It's always very busy at thew Edinburgh Festival but you expect that. There are beautiful places to visit and day trips out of Edinburgh are always great value. This time we went on a Highlands Tour which was really awesome - great driver and guide, lovely weather, fabulous sights. Public transport was great and we found some really good places to eat away from The Royal Mile. It is hilly - steps everywhere so you need to be fit if you want to explore the Closes but they are well worth the effort.

Edinburgh City was beautiful and our stay there was not long enough to see it all!! At our time there, there was the Military Tattoo on, Fringe Festival and AC/DC at Murray field. Weather was magnificent and it was easy to get around the city via buses and simply walking to see all the sites.

Great city to walk, shop - pretty much anything.

Great city to walk, shop - pretty much anything. Whether you are a history aficionado or a party-goer, there is something pretty much every moment of the day. It is very expensive by almost any standard but if you time the trip well, you can still land acceptable lodging options and there are grocery stores and some restaurants open 24/7, so do not fret about missing anything at all.

We were a group of 11, the staff were really nice and genuinley friendly. The rooms were good, the breakfast too. With a bus stop outside the front door we could use 2 busses to arrive in the city centre within 20 minutes. Nearby are many shops and a bank. All in all the service in Toby carvery was excellent for the hotel guests! Unfortunately one of our group misplaced her wallet and e-book, this was found and handed in by the cleaning staff, and was very much appreciated! Thank you Team Toby's Carvery Edinburgh West for a great stay!

Fantastic hotel for the money. Second time we have stayed here. Easy access off the bypass and lots of parking although it had doubled to £8 since our last visit. Don’t be put off by the hotels distance from the city centre. There is a tram spot about 100 meters away which takes about 10 minutes to get into the centre of Edinburgh which is excellent. The swimming pool is the perfect size for for a quick dip or if you have small children. Staff are very polite and friendly. Will definitely stay again.
