Place was lovely and so was the staff. About 20 minute walk from where the buses let you off or the lanchas. She helped to arrange a boat to Livingston and made pancakes in the morning for everyone at the hostel. Stayed there again after going to livingston I liked it so much.

I really wanted to like Rio Dulce.

I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

Beautiful remote location with many jungle lodges (from super remote to more public) along the river. Great jungle hikes, caves, kayaking with plenty of nature and wildlife. Definitely a required stop when visiting Guatemala, will visit again!

Our family loved Tortugal Lodge! It was hard to leave. Wish we had booked for longer. The staff were welcoming and very helpful! I arrived with a bad cold and Angela was so kind to make me healing tea and check on me. The hotel setting was beautiful and we loved swimming right off the dock. We were nervous about not having AC, but we were plenty comfortable in our room at night with the fan. The rooms were lovely and cozy. We definitely felt connected to nature while also being very comfortable. Such a beautiful, relaxing place!

This hotel is a gem ! First it s absolutely beautiful, the architecture of the hotel and the location. It is on the water but not directly on Rio Dulce which make the place secluded and quieter. Second, the food is amazing. We stayed 3 nights so we had time to try a lot of different things and everything was really good. Third, the people working there are the sweetest people, you can really see how they care about this place and how proud they are to be part of it. Also try their 1hour massage ! Highly recommend!

A hidden gem, felt like we were in the middle of the jungle but with friendly people and great food. Everything is catered for at Hotelito Perdido. Loved the group meals in the evening and lots of activities offered for the day. Went on a kayak up the river to a beautiful waterfall and we were the only people there. Tim and his wife were super helpful - we really felt looked after. Beds were comfortable and accommodation clean :)

There was a free launch to and from the hotel and the town when checking in or out. It was a 30 minute walk to the main road in the town. The bungalows were spacious with a great shower and aircon. The pool was a fair size. The food was good quality and reasonable for a hotel. There were inexpensive activities available. The staff were helpful and available.

very eco friendly place, but still comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We took a mini tour boat around the lake (independent vender, but reception staff have contact numbers), did a Kayak tour at 5:30 am in which we saw some hauling monkeys, and they have a nice hiking trWe did not eat in the hotel restaurant so can’t weigh in on that.

Food is really great - large portions and a very good menu to choose from! A lovely mix of local and more modern American food as well - so definitely something to suit everyone! Staff are very friendly, we got chatting to the owners so hear about how they came to open the hotel. Hearing the monkeys at night was also fab!

Nice staff and room! It is noisy die to the road but if you live in the city it is the same amount of noise. We were so tired from our trip from Mexico city and went straight to Rio dulce it was easy for us to fall a sleep Also pick up (collectivo/public boat) from the hotel to Livingstone and other river lodges

We loved how close the hotel was to the lake and that everything was clean. Having AC was a definite bonus, as was the relaxing hammock on the front porch of the hotel. It had everything we needed without unnecessary frills. Wifi worked well too, as did water pressure and water temperature regulation.

An amazing, quite place with a great staff and delicious food. The location is close to Rio Dulce town but far enough away to be secluded. The have a boat that picks you up for free and the staff helped with lots of questions about tours and transportation to Honduras.

Such a great spot; swim, kayak, lounge around, chat to other guests, head into Rio Dulce town...we loved it here. Angela and Rudi were both so helpful, the two house dogs make the place feel homely and our room was enormous. Comfy bed, clean bathroom.
