One of London’s oldest houses, dating back to the 1450s, and a landmark on this picturesque street. It’s filled with antique furniture, has a log burner and open fire, and two huge gardens. There is no other property like it in London and yet it’s only 45 mins from Oxford Circus. Continental breakfast of home baked bread, local croissants, home made apple juice and jams and bean-to-cup coffee and fine teas. Originally a 15th-century hall house, it was extended over the centuries to include panelled rooms, added in the 18th century, and a double-height former school room, now a kitchen. This landmark property was home to the writer Charles Lamb in the 1820s and bears a plaque in his memory. Restored in 2020, there is significant historic detailing throughout the property, including original Georgian fireplaces and panelling. Dedicated sitting room for your own use (where you'll have breakfast), and bedroom directly above, with small en suite shower room.
