Make sure there is not some form of function/celebration or protest. Trafalgar Square was entirely closed up & decorated for Chinese New year & I felt that took away from one of London's iconic features
Gets crowded on any warm day but woth seeing the nations tribute to our most famous and successful admiral,Lord Nelson.Around the square are a number of our famous galleries. All the streets off the square offer a whole range of interesting places to and things to see.
Wonderful place with easy access to National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery is just around the back. Both have good cafes to eat and good Gallery shops. Often there are performers in this Square which adds to the atmosphere.Kids love climbing on the bronze lions.
Overlooking the Square is St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church. Go there. To the left of the church is a glass dome with stairs or take the lift down to their Cafe in the Crypt. Yes, it’s where people are buried. You can dine very cheap for London. cafeteria style. The food tastes like home cooking. Always a gluten free, veg. choice. The grave stones are under your feet. Open until 9 PM most nights. Also, they have a small, but nice gift shop. At Christmas time, wonderful card selection. Enjoy.
What a great place to spend time in London .The first thing that strikes you about the flat is the fantastic location, just off Leicester Square, moments from Covent Garden as well as Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square. The decor is carefully chose, very professional organised and managed, immaculate clean. My wife struggled with the shower the first morning but within very short notice we received a quick visit to get the fittings explained. The private owner made us feel very homey - I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Oh my goodness this hotel was terrific! Friendly, conveniently located, clean, classy and comfortable! It is not only beautiful but the staff was helpful and kind. The meals we had at the hotel were our best breakfasts of the entire vacation and you just cannot beat the location for New Year's Eve! Very close to the Tube (subway) and the Uber boat dock! Walking distance to Trafalgar Square, the eye and others depending on your ability and desire to walk. I would definitely recommend this fabulous hotel.
For a recent trip to the UK we wanted to try staying at a central location in London. You don't get more central than a few steps from Trafalgar Square. Beautiful hotel right in the heart of London. Right next to Charing Cross Station, great pubs everywhere, walking distance to the theater district, decent English breakfast, wonderfully friendly staff. Amazing view of Big Ben and Westminster Abbey from the room.
Location was very good, Walking distance to Trafalgar square, Covent Garden and many restaurants. Very clean and functional, room, tiny but this was expected. The check in/out process quick. Nice that one can have breakfast or light meal in the lobby, we did not use this service but it smelled good! Great shower, we took a room with a windpw.
The location was fantastic . Very easy to get to Camden town Trafalgar Square and any other location by bus and trains were near by as well . The front desk was very helpful with any questions we had, very friendly and held our luggage when we arrived several hours early . The units were clean . We will stay here again for sure !
We loved the peaceful location of this hotel, but also easily walkable to all of the main attractions of London! We walked to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and Trafalgar Square. The neighborhood was great with lots of good restaurants. The staff was SO friendly and helpful! Thanks for a great stay!
The Citadines is an Apart Hotel that is very close to London’s Trafalgar Square. You are close to many attractions. This part of London is safe, with main line station connections to many towns and villages. Currently England is challenged by train strikes, beware when taking day trips.
The staff were very helpful and the location excellent. Practically within walking distance to the west end, Trafalgar Square etc. Oxford Street is a few minutes away as is the British Museum and Covent Garden. Tube round the corner. Perfect for a short comfy stay.

The location is superb very close to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, and Leicester Square. The staff was helpful, friendly, and accommodating.
Trafalgar square makes impression by giving sense of Great Empire, while monuments in front of parliament illustrate the way from empire to democracy.
