You only visit this place to check off the "Buckingham Palace" mark on the bucket list. It's really not that cool from the outside. The statues in front are the coolest part of it. Overrated and SO many people you guaranteed will not get a good picture.
How is it that a country with so many people suffering with heating and eating bills can still afford to pay for a family to live in nine palaces? The royals only choice these days will be whether to have the grouse or the pheasant for lunch. No worry about heating bills for them. The royal family do bring in an amount in terms of tourism but it is a tiny percentage of what we earn from tourism in general. It's time we made better use of the country's money!
If you're a royal like myself, do it. I loved it. I could've spent more time looking at more but obviously it's still a working palace. It books out early so get in quick if you can. It's certainly not a tour to do on a whim.
Fantastic tour in the summer .Go early to see the changing of the Guard at 11 am .Lovely walk through St James ‘park .Gift shop at side of palace and across the road .Restaurants around it expensive go a few hundred metres away .
It is a nice place to visit the only it was a lot over crown which I found difficult to stop are read what was in the case and have a good look The other thing there is no toilet until the end of the tour so if you have young one or elderly people that might be a problem and I went with elderly Ladies as the step was a problem there was taken on an other route and we was told we could all come just 1 person and a carer which mean we was split up and we didn't see them until was came out for tea and cakes was not what we had plan for Ladies day out we did phone to see where they where they was on a total different part from us
Not as impressed with the Buck House Exhibition as I thought I would be... not really a lover of the monarchy so all the oppulance tended to wrangle with me. However the Indian dining room was absolutely brilliant
The location was amazing. This stay is right outside the train station. It was close to the shopping and restaurants, but also a beautiful 15-20 minute walk to Buckingham Palace and gardens. You do not hear the sounds of the city from inside the hotel and it was a relaxing simple stay that filled all of our needs. The property is happy to help answer any questions and is available by Booking.com messenger and WhatsApp throughout your stay.
We absolutely loved the location during our stay with Sidney Hotel. It’s a quick 20 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, as well an easy 10-15 minute taxi to the rest of the core tourist spots. It’s also a safe and quiet neighborhood to walk around and find good food and drinks. As well the staff was so polite and willing to accommodate as needed which was so very appreciated.
Location was fantastic ! Close to Victoria Coach Station and connected to Victoria Station. Very short walking distance to Buckingham Palace and maybe 15 minute walk to Big Ben area. Lots of stores and eateries around. Hotel was historic and lobby was beautiful. My room for one person was plenty big with all the usual amenities. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
Location was top notch, You couldn't ask for a better location, big ben, house of parliament, london eye, buckingham palace were all within walking distance, we had a view of big ben and london eye from our suite. Breakfast was excellent and true english style with hundred of choices, so many elevators in the hotel, the play area for kids was a good idea.
Excellent location and very friendly staff. They are available 24 hours a day and really help with everything they can. Very clean and modern hotel. You are almost at the perimeter wall of Buckingham Palace, and many top attractions are within walking distance. Room was clean and very nice. Certainly lived up to my generally high expectations.
Amazing location - steps from Buckingham Palace, the Mall, etc. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. Most of the staff was really friendly, but a couple of them were quite rude to us (in an arrogant, "you don't really belong here in this hotel" way), so that brought the score down.
The location of this boutique hotel in relatively quiet Vincent Square is one of the main selling points. It's within short walking distance of the Houses of Parliament, Victoria Street, Tate Britain, and Buckingham Palace.
What I like most of this hotel was location. Very close to metro. I was able to walk down to Buckingham palace and the Elizabethan Tower with no problem.
Did not eat there. Great location by Buckingham Palace. Best hotel ever!
London has an enormous amount of green space. We were located in the Westminster district near Buckingham Palace and there was so much to enjoy just by walking through St. James Park. A stroll to the Thames brings you to the heart of the city. So much to see. An incredible city and the people are great. Don't miss Trafalgar Square.
