Seemed like a nice town, plenty of bars and restaurants, including a rather upmarket Wetherspoons !
Be careful if you park in the large council car park, behind the Main Street. I parked overnight, and got a fine the next day. Instructions misleading. I am appealing !

You have to park on multi story. Followed instructions on arrival to gain entry, no body there, only gained entry after off duty staff popped in . Very helpful with information where to park and took us to room.

Salisbury Arms is my favourite hotel and I always stay there when in Hertford
The staff are friendly, the rooms are just great and so is the breakfast !
The location in a quiet street, yet right in the centre of Hertford , is perfect.
Just a few minutes walk from lovely cafes , The Old Barge pub by the canal and the Saturday market, and a few minutes to long walks along the river.

Hertford has the feel of a market town...a feeling of being safe in your surroundings and lots of choices of places to eat and drink..variety in your choices..i stayed at the Salisbury Hotel, not for the first time, they are lucky to have a General Manager who believes in her team, and that why i chose to take nineteen people for a evening meal, with 5 of us stopping over in their excellent rooms..

Parking is terrible, I paid on payonphone app for the multi story car park and it was a nightmare. Still have to display ticket even when free! We travelled into London with friends who live in Hertford to see a show. Nice easy commute.
VERY spacious , so much more ideal for my family to stay here rather than a hotel
free designated parking right outside
clean.
great location, easy access to the A10
fully stocked kitchen, a home away from home
it felt very homely.
booking wasn’t straight forward by I got my deposit back quickly and without any hassle.
this will be my go-to place to
stay whenever visiting family in the south (we’re from Yorkshire)
All staff very helpful, breakfast lovely. The room was a little on the small side, but perfectly adequate. I was a little worried about staying in the very middle of Hertford due to possible noise (plenty of pubs and restaurants) but we were tucked away at the back of the hotel and unaware of any noise outside. Location was great. Bars downstairs very welcoming and we had a very enjoyable meal there in the evening.
charming , cozy hotel with a nice updated room and in a great location . The lounge bar and dining room we’re comfortable & the food in the restaurant was delicious! we didn’t use the patio area due to cold and rain but it looked like a wonderful place to have a drink . they had nice amenities like tea nespresso biscuits water bottles for your room and a butler pantry for refills.
I have written a review on hotel website already. I was in room 206, avoid it as there is a generator outside the bedroom window. Generator on all the time! Room small, bed fine, television control not working properly, on and off has to be controlled by switching off plug on the wall! Good location for hotel and fine breakfast
This place is special, such a lovely space. Quiet and secluded. We had a lovely weekend exploring Hertford. The bed was super comfortable, it had lots of extra little touches, like milk in the fridge, coffee pods for the coffee machine, spices for cooking. I think this is one of the best rental places I have ever stayed.
Breakfast was superb, great selection to choose from, staff were friendly and helpful. The front of house staff, especially Zoe was very helpful and always made things easy. The room was comfortable, lovely soft bed. The location is great for anyone staying in Hertford, near to shops restaurants and the Heritage Trail.
The room was lovely. Shower amazing. Bar cosy and beers lovely. We ate dinner at the hotel for the first time in as long as I can remember staying places with work. The pies were delicious.
Its a great hotel, really good value for money and better than any of the chain hotels by an absolute mile.
