Since we have family in the area, the Pine Marten has become our go-to accommodation when visiting Harrogate. The family rooms are spacious and comfortable for our two young children. It is within a few hundred yards of the RHS Harlow Carr gardens and they are well worth a visit. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Thank you!

The location is excellent, room service i had one night came quickly. and that is about it to be honest, i didn't like anything else about the hotel. Room small, noisy, could hear people walking in the corridors at night.

FAQs about hotels in Harrogate

Sophisticated Victorian Spa Town

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.

The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.

One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.

Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.

Options on Booking.com include 5-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments near the train station, and guest houses with parking. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport to the south.

What Guests Said About Harrogate:

Harrogate itself is a beautiful town with plenty of history.

Harrogate itself is a beautiful town with plenty of history. The feature that most appealed to us its dog-friendly nature - almost every shop, cafe, and pub welcomed our dog, and some even offered comforts ranging from bowls of water and treats to a blanket to lie on! The people of Harrogate are all very friendly too, nods of greeting and warm "hellos" a constant feature as we wandered the streets. A late find for us, but a place we will look forward to visiting again, as soon as possible. I particularly recommend Crema Coffee for their breakfasts, the Yellow Chair Cafe and Love Brownies for their coffee and cake, and The Barologist and The Montpellier for doing what pubs do best!

Very clean town what stood out to us as well as the beautiful gardens, lots of places to eat and drink etc, there were no idiots, thugs, scumbags or rough sleepers and beggars. It was a delight to walk through the town without feeling ill at ease as we do in some, not all, but some other towns.

Beautiful town - lots of green spaces, lovely buildings and so many flowers! Wetherspoons in the Winter Gardens was a lovely building and a good stop off point. The valley gardens were lovely for a stroll. The blues bar was a good find with 3 live bands on a Sunday and absolutely packed.

A beautiful town with many interesting buildings, lots of places to eat and drink. But if you want to visit the famous "Betty's tea rooms" be prepared to queue. Helps to be fit as you are either going up or down, very little on the flat. Another thing that impressed me was the public transport. Buses in particular were immaculate and drivers friendly and helpful.

General ambience. Part of a group of 12 who stayed 2 nights. Had dinner in the private Orchid Room on the first night. Service and food quality was excellent. The same can be said of breakfast. Good food and service. The hotel is well placed an easy 5 minute walk from Harrogate railway station and the town centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean.

A great welcome at Reception. First class standard room with the biggest bed I've ever seen! Super efficient air con. Handy fridge, kettle and a great selection of hot drink provisions. Massive television and several lights. Well equipped bathroom with beautifully scented handwash, bodywash, shampoo and body lotion. This was probably the best value hotel we've experienced in Harrogate.

The Crown Hotel is a beautiful old building, well positioned in the town of Harrogate and close to all it has to offer.
