FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Vibrant city with lots to do. VERY clean and people helpful and courteous. Public transportation is the way to get around. We were in Asia for 3 months and stopped in Tokyo three times for a total of 5 days. We would return. Things we liked: Mt Fuji excursion (and the skies were clear), Meiji Jingu Shrine, Asakusa Buddhist Temple, Tokyo Sky Tree (tower), Imperial Palace, cherry blossoms, Shibuya downtown area, & government building observation deck, .

Too large to experience in our short two weeks, Tokyo has something for everyone and many more things you didn't know you'd love. The best food I've ever had, the most affordable food I've ever had, some of the coolest old districts, and crazy lighting and neon, both within 500 M of each other. The people are polite and helpful, but passionate and proud after sharing a conversation with them. I love Tokyo and can't wait to be back.

Our family member is there at Tokyo now. James sibling & wife. People who saw us may be shocked bc his twin has identical looks. Very very nice, we enjoyed ourselves 3rd time at this hotel & will absolutely come again. Your young cute & beautiful reservationist was very helpful. I don’t know her name but she was 1st to bring new items & our laundry. She’s should be in top of your staff list because she heard my situation & came by to see me two times. The hotel is a 10-12 minute walk from Shinjuku station, in a nice leafy neighbourhood. There's a great park opposite. A taxi from Shinjuku station is about 900yen. It has a great bakery and bar downstairs, helpful staff, 3 fast lifts and a great area on the second floor to eat and drink. The rooms were pretty spacious with a desk and chair. Check in was easy and they sorted out a taxi to the airport in the early hours which was on time and reliable. Overall, great and felt like a somewhat peaceful retreat after a busy day in Tokyo.

Second mimaru property we stayed at in Tokyo. We really liked the last one (Ueno east) but liked this even more. The room was more spacious, very spacious by Tokyo standards. Same comfy beds and helpful friendly staff. The location was good - very close to station on the Oedo line which runs across to the east side for Asakusa and Ueno, as well as being close to the west side neighbourhoods. The immediate neighbourhood was office towers and tall hotels, but plenty of services and close to livelier parts of Shinjuku as well.

It is located very near the Shinjuku New South Gate exit. The Yamamoto line is accessible from there. My husband and I had an easy time going to the tourist spots in Tokyo because of this. The airport limousine also picks up and drops passengers in front of the hotel. So location is perfect. The breakfast buffet is also very good - coffee was good;’tea was plenty. There also very good restaurants near it and not necessarily Japanese. Also Family Mart. All in all, the hotel was perfect for new visitors like us.

Looking for a hotel in Tokyo and first timer, I didn't researched enough and the hotel is in Kabukicho, which is known for its adult night life, bars and love hotels. My stay was actually really good as I leave each day very early. The room was clean and it had every kind of amenities, even karaoke! Also, it's very close to Shinjuku station, which is very busy, but gives you a point of departure to all Tokyo.

Location was great, especially for those exploring Shinjuku/Shibuya. Very vibrant nightlife. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Stayed in a standard double room -- non-smoking. My husband and I thought the room was a perfect size for us. Very close to tokyo station, Ueno Zoo, Shibuya, Gundam Base… and to other our places of destination. They provide mouth wash which is not offered from other hotels I’ve stayed.

Was so close to everything. Only a few minutes walk to either Shibuya station or Yoyogi Park and Harajuku. Hotel Lobby was nice with cafe onsite
