FAQs about hotels in Singapore

Asia in a Compact Package

Clean, compact and compelling, Singapore seamlessly combines the best of Asia. Different cultures and cuisines live side by side, while maintaining their own identity.

Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is cheap and delicious dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Wander past the pastel-painted facades of Malay-dominated Geylang Seari for a taste of days gone by, then stop off at the Colonial-style Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail.

For a retreat from the hustle and bustle, take the cable car to the sandy beaches of Sentosa, an island just south of the city center. Also here is Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park brimming with the magic of the movies.

As you’d expect from the host of the world’s only Formula 1 night race, once night falls, Singapore is still very much alive. Its Night Safari is a zoo providing the rare chance to see nocturnal animals going about their business.

Although small enough to see on foot, Singapore has an efficient public transport system which extends as far as Singapore Changi Airport. With a choice of Singapore accommodations ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, Booking.com is bound to have the right choice for your holiday.

I liked the architecture of the buildings. And the airport.

I liked the architecture of the buildings. And the airport. I didn’t like the airport security treating my whole family with suspicion just because we were born in Baghdad, even though I entered with an Australian passport. It’s not worth staying for more than three nights — it’s very expensive, there’s not much to do, and the weather is hot and humid, making it difficult to walk around. You just end up staying in the swimming pool.

Singapore is a great country to visit: very safe, great public transport system, very clean, easy to get around, and cost effective. Very diverse, while offering a very harmonious environment. It is fun and relaxing. The gastronomy is as delicious as its people. The 'Heritage Walk' offered by the Raffles Hotel is a fantastic tour. It's very affordable and a great insight into the history of of the hotel and the development of Singapore. Highly recommended I also enjoyed my visit to the Artscience museum and galleries.

Well, I think Singapore is a one-time destination, if at all...

Well, I think Singapore is a one-time destination, if at all. I’m not sure what my expectations were, but it seems to me that it is a must place if you travel with children. Then, it is a fun place to visit. I’m more interested in history, culture and architecture. None of that is either present or impressive. This is a predominantly Chinese city-state but not enough so to replace a visit to China, if that’s what you are after. Mostly high rises, though pretty and even striking, but not unique, except maybe for the Sands SkyPark. For those who love to visit observation decks, it might be something special. However, it is a very livable place, and if you want to move there, I think it is a great place to settle in. The people are friendly, considerate and polite. The city is clean, safe, and very well designed to accommodate cars and pedestrians. Metro stations are rather palaces; buses are everywhere, and they clean and with AC; many are double-decker, so you can enjoy the view along the way. Not only that, local buses are reliable, frequent, on time and cheap. Besides, all you need is a contactless card (visa or master card), you will have no problem getting on one of them (forget about the tourist pass - waste of money).

Singapore is a lovely city but you need to prioritise what you want from the city - Business/Tourist/Sport/ Shopping and then pick your location and accommodation. Hop 0n Hop off bus is the best way to start and then choose your preferred destinations to visit Because of the heat you should consider visiting tourist attractions later in the afternoons Definitely need a pool at your hotel ¬!!

Singapore is easy to get around, thanks to the MRT and bus systems, it feels like a very safe city, and it is clean!! The hawker markets mean you do not have to eat expensive food, and the different areas of Singapore mean there is a lot of variety to experience. My favourite place is (always) the National Orchid Gardens in the Botanic Gardens!!

It’s a gorgeous hotel and located only 5 mins walk from some fabulous restaurants and bars, the Singapore river and therefore boat cruises on the river. The staff are so helpful and amazing, the room was so clean and beautifully decorated as is the whole hotel. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous, the pool area is so much better than the other hotels in this area. To be honest I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Definitely book this hotel!!
