Good to get there early as so much to see and can easily spend a whole day there. If you're into the gory bits, I'd visit the exhibit on torture early as tends to be a queue; the same applies to the Crown jewels. The architecture and history there were amazing, but be prepared to walk a lot of hills and steps. We enjoyed seeing the crown jewels and were lucky there wasn't too much of a queue to get in to see them. The actual Tower of London, the actual Tower Bridge, the actual castles and cathedrals are all still in place, even after the Nazi bombs and rockets of WWII. Even the "Jack the Ripper" tour retraces some of the same steps in the same alleyways of that villian.
