Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
The gem of a hotel is located just off Times Square. While we normally avoid the Square due to crowds and noise, we wanted to maximize our time for theater, shopping, and dining, and minimize our taxi and subway travel. The rooms are spacious for NY standards and the price point was perfect without breaking the bank. The staff was delightful and there is a coffee shop right across the street. Other than typical street noise, the rooms were quiet and there was little if any wait for elevators.
The location of this property is perfect, its in Times Square area. The room was big enough for ne and i had nice sleep because the bed and pillow was so comfortable. I like this type of hotel where they provide mini kitchen, so that I could waem up my food or cook something easy, its nice touch. I stayed for two nights and i could say that my stay was perfect, i hope i could stay longer, may be next time when i visit new york again.
The room looked new, bathroom was bigger than expected. Beds were more comfortable than the average hotel bed. Breakfast was packed with all the essentials, although we didn’t really eat it as we wanted to have local food instead. Staff was friendly and accessible. Only about 15 min walk to Times Square and Hudson Yards. We were able to check in the AM because they already had rooms available, which is a great plus.
Humble little hotel with perfect location! Arrived for Broadway show, .2 miles from the Theater, so much to walk to including Broadway, Times Square. Small room but fine for the night, can't beat the location, Vanilla Gorilla Coffee Shop across the street was delicious! Validated/discounted pricing at local garage was perfect, huge tv in room and large minifridge a plus
This hotel has the best location. Times square is 0.7 miles away, subway and grand central terminal is 0.2 miles away. All the restaurants around are so good!! We booked for 2 rooms and they were able to put us right beside each other. I enjoy the part with the roof. It is nice to have a space like this where you can chill. The bed is very comfortable.
+ Attractive location; the Times Square is just a few walking minutes away, and there is also a subway station nearby ("Port Authority"). Very lively area 24 hours a day! + The price is quite inexpensive for a hotel in New York at this location. + The hotel room is clean, and the elevator is fast and convenient.
The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The location was good and close to Broadway, Times Square and close to multiple restaurants. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The hotel stored our bags when we had to check out so that we could continue our exploration of New York City.
The location is the best thing about this hotel, it's just the best: 1 min from 5th avenue 5-7 min from Times Square! The bed was comfortable. The room was clean, not noisy, there was a microwave, a safe and a fridge, a lot of USB sockets so you don't need an adapter to charge the phone and etc.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The complimentary water and gummy bears were a nice touch. Lobby smelled so good, I ended up buying the scent! Location was also great, walking distance from Times Square. Honestly best hotel we have stayed at in the last few years. Amazing experience!!
For New York (where hotel rooms tend to be on the small side), the room I got was quite comfy. The location is also very centric, right across the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and 3 blocks from Times Square.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
