Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
The rooms were decent sized and quiet for the most part. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They go out of their way to ensure comfort. They did their best to accommodate all of my needs which was very much appreciated. It’s a good hotel but I’m not a fan of Times Square and it’s filth and over crowdedness. Of course that has nothing to do with the hotel other than when you step outside. I think it’s a good deal and the physical location is close to transportation and other NYC attractions.
We loved the location of this hotel very close to Bryant Park and between two subway stations. We could easily walk to the New York Public Library, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and the theatres. The room was quiet and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to meet our requests such as checking in early, storing our bags at check out, and arranging a taxi to the airport.
You can't beat the hotel's location. Right in the heart of Times Square and for that price. Would totally recommend it. An old hotel and you can tell by the wall coverings in the corridors without breakfast too (there are 2 delis right next to it with great options for breakfast in great prices too) but it's really clean with everyday room cleaning and with comfortable beds. Great bathroom and a closet with a safe.
Hidden Little Times Square Gem ... room and bathroom tastefully decorated, well-appointed and very clean. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and service in cute little bar/restaurant was excellent. From the moment we checked in, I fell in love with this cute little Irish-Themed Boutique Hotel.
Hotel is in a PRIME location in the middle of Times Square underneath the ball and right beside the subway, but is still quiet and comfortable! Nice clean rooms as well with big, comfy beds. Highly recommend this property in New York.
Loved the location near times square. The room size was expected given New York City. But a good use of space, and a nice modern, clean room. The hotels recommendation of the city parking garage two avenues away was great…
New York
This hotel was one block from Times Square. We had a 1 bedroom apartment w/ kitchenette. Awesome Italian restaurant next door. East walking distance to theater’s. We will use again
Location was great close to mayor transportation hubs, theaters and Times Square. It is located in a less busy, less noisy side street. Taxis and cars can stop in front of the hotel.
We were in the City to see a show. The hotel location was great for everything near Broadway and Times Square, all walkable and a 5 minute cab ride to Penn Station.
There was construction going on at the hotel in the morning. it's New York near Times Square, the noise blended in with the neighborhood.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
