Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
The hotel is very nice and a great value. Located in Times Square, you are in the middle of everything. Both the life of Times Square and easy access to subways or uptown and downtown. Easy walk to Rockafeller Plaza. Overall a very nice hotel. I was surprised by the size of the room, given this is New York, and also how large the corridors were. Makes a difference in a cramped City. Staff was courteous and helpful and the free breakfast was fine. Get to breakfast early, as there are a lot of people taking advantage of it.
Hotel Scherman is ideally located near Times Square and Hell's Kitchen. There is no shortage of high-quality restaurants nearby. Bus stops and subway stations are all within 1-2 blocks. The front desk and housekeeping staff at Hotel Scherman are phenomenal--friendly, accommodating, and professional. We slept like babies. Our room faced the back of the hotel, so there was no street noise whatsoever. The beds were extremely comfortable.
The location of this property is perfect, its in Times Square area. The room was big enough for ne and i had nice sleep because the bed and pillow was so comfortable. I like this type of hotel where they provide mini kitchen, so that I could waem up my food or cook something easy, its nice touch. I stayed for two nights and i could say that my stay was perfect, i hope i could stay longer, may be next time when i visit new york again.
Location is scam. Its not in Times Square or nearby. I've never been to new york before. I thought since it said Times Square, it was a great location. I've arrived. Ugly streets, full of garbage, super disgusting the location. And its really a scam because it was 8 blocks away from Times Square. And in the name of the hotel it says Times Square in BIG.
As a family we stayed in two connected rooms and very spacious for a pleasant stay, The entire hotel staff and especially the reception staff are dedicated to providing excellent service. The location of the hotel is excellent, a 3-minute walk to Times Square. There is no doubt that we will be happy to stay there for our next visit to New York.
+ Attractive location; the Times Square is just a few walking minutes away, and there is also a subway station nearby ("Port Authority"). Very lively area 24 hours a day! + The price is quite inexpensive for a hotel in New York at this location. + The hotel room is clean, and the elevator is fast and convenient.
The New Yorker has a centralized location that you can reach different famous spots: Times Square, various shopping and restaurants, Empire State Building is two or three blocks away that you can see standing in front of the hotel. Most of all Madison Square Garden is practically across the street.
Great location for getting to the theaters or Times Square. There's a nice Italian Restaurant just a couple doors down. The hotel is clean, fairly comfortable, and a decent value. We were on the 19th floor and enjoyed the view we had. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
A very well located hotel, across the street, is Bryant Park and the area of Times Square is very close. The room was good for the visit, and they have parking around the corner for a good value (remember that it is Manhattan).
For New York (where hotel rooms tend to be on the small side), the room I got was quite comfy. The location is also very centric, right across the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and 3 blocks from Times Square.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
