Its amazing to see, once. But is so crowded just walking g, especially with children, is dangerous and it's so packed sometimes it's a pick pockets dream come true.. SO CAUTION IS A MUST. Frankly, I think it's way over rated...just a bunch of stores, people, lights and billboards jammed into a very small space.. Big deal.
there is an earth cam pointed at the bottom of the giant stairway if you want to be seen worldwide. Good Morning America is there but to get in you have to apply online then its the luck of the draw, still fun just being outside. Mc Donald right there and an M&M Museum with restroom on third floor . extreamly hard to find public restrooms
Be firm when a character jumps into your photo or wants a picture with you and your not willing to pay. Do have fun on the strip and know that the "apple" is very small, you have to look real hard to find it. Know that the strip is only a few blocks long. The souvenir shops are not that overly priced. Many say going to China town you can find cheaper. We didn't go to China town so can't compare the prices.
This area is always pretty crowded, so if you don't like crowds, don't go. However, if you time is correctly and go during the mid afternoon, it's not so bad. Evenings are popping in this area. Lots of night life.
Times Square one of my Best places during our visit in NYC this is where the streets come to life with music and dancing in the streets is a sure thing to do !! the energy is so high and you can just feel the city living it best life , if you want to go where you can see the lights well this is the place to be !!
EVERYONE as a first-time visitor to NYC must experience Times Square, without fail...especially after dark, when one can fully take in the visual sensory overload of all the neon lights as well as the multitude of tourists, locals, & gawkers alike scurrying through the crowds!
Hotel is located within walking distance of the subways and 10 blocks from Times Square. They serve a full breakfast of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, pastries, fruit and make your own waffles. The gym is spacious and open 24 hours. Don't forget, this is New York, rooms can be smaller than other hotel rooms in other cities. However, it includes every amenity you'd find in other hotels, ie, mini fridge & microwave, single serve coffee maker, hair dryer, ironing/iron, and safe.
Lovely room, a bit on the small side for a standard hotel room but quite roomy compared to an average New York hotel. Everything was shiny and clean, the staff always professional and friendly, location was excellent. Comfy bed, nice pillows and sheets, soft-close drawers on the desk. Quiet. A great place for a theater weekend: close to Times Square but away from the madness and tourist throngs at the thick of it.
The Wellington Hotel was in the perfect spot for us to walk down to Times Square and Broadway to explore some of the iconic areas of New York City. The room itself was comfortable and was perfect for the price. They also have the Park Cafe on the ground floor of the hotel for a quick breakfast or to order room service.
The room was very spacious especially for a family of 7. It was very large and the bathroom was great. The location was great as we were a little below Times Square but, perfect and right near a Dunkin Donuts. Also it was only about a 10 min drive to the Pier where we were going to get on our Cruise. Perfect Hotel!
The location was great! Very close by times square, trains were right by the hotel as well as the citi bikes to ride around the city. Penn Station was an 8 minute walk and various food options nearby as well. The beds were COMFY :) would definitely stay again.
Super clean. Super fiendly staff. Rooms in comparison to other hotels rooms in New York is quite spacious. A Nice variety of all fresh breakfast. Great location. 8 min walk to penn station. 6 min walk to Times Square area.
We loved staying at this hotel! We were a short walk to Times Square and were right on restaurant row! Every night there was access to delicious food and live music! We would 100% stay again!
I enjoyed the suite and the amenties that came with it. i enjoyed the view of times square, and the seperation of the living room and bed room. felt like a great apartment.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
