Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
Check-in was at 4pm. My daughter and I arrived in NYC at noon. We walked around Times Square, then Bryant Park and did a little shopping, but it was so cold that we decided to head towards the hotel. I didn't get the name of the guest attendant who checked us in but she got us into out room by1:30. She was EXCELLENT!!. We settled in for the night and ordered from GubHub. The Port Authoruty bus station was across the street so we had not trouble catching our bus back to Phiily on time.
It is New York... in the middle of times square... what more could anyone ask for. I was in the middle of it all and my 2 young boys LOVED it! The tree at Rockefeller was the main attraction and it didn't disappoint at all! My stay at the hotel was GREAT! I believe the young lady at check in... I think her name was Alyssa?? *spelling.. SHE was a SUPERWOMAN!! She was a walking swiss army knife! Huge kudos to her and the other staff members who were more than welcoming to the building.
This hotel is in walking distance to Times Square so we were seeing something new every time we walked outside. The hotel itself was very nice and had a classy old time feel without the dingy atmosphere that usually accompanies an older building. Staff was pleasant. Our room exceeded our expectations and was spacious in comparison to the standard NYC hotel room. It had a mini fridge and microwave which were much appreciated. I will definitely stay again when I come back to the city.
I loved that everything was walking distance. For our first time in New York, this hotel was close enough for us to walk to. We visited Central park, Times Square, Bryant Park, the Empire State building, and Rockefeller Center. The hotel is about 15-30 minutes away from all these wonderful places. I would love to stay here again the following year. We stayed here 4 days and they even allowed me to have a late check out.
The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The location was good and close to Broadway, Times Square and close to multiple restaurants. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The hotel stored our bags when we had to check out so that we could continue our exploration of New York City.
everything was so beautiful, from staff that they are very nice and helpful to a room's view and the cleanliness, also I liked how much it's close to times square. definitely I will stay in this hotel whenever I'm in New York.
A pleasant small hotel in midtown Manhattan close to Grand Central Station and Times Square. Side street where the hotel is located is a little gritty, but the wonderful staff and the clean room made up for it.
Breakfast was the usual, but the room was decent size. Most hotels in NYC don't have complimentary breakfast. Location is good for walking to Times Square, theater, etc.
The location close to Times Square was the ONLY thing we liked about this hotel! The restaurant had good food. Too pricey for New York and what we got though.
Hotel is in a great location near metro, restaurants, bars, Times Square! Room was clean and good size!
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
