I love times square. Plenty to see and do. Lots of restaurants ranging from reasonable to pricy. Shop around. If you stay in times square, Central Park, Lincoln Center and Carnagie Hall are all within walking distance.
Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Location is great if you're looking to be close to Times Square action. It is also close to a subway station so you can easily get elsewhere. Staff were on top of things especially the bellhops. The hotel was experiencing a major tech issue with their keycard system that creates/codes, so anyone checking in on Saturday or Sunday (at least) did not have key cards to their rooms, but they developed a system with the bellhops to escorted guests to their rooms and let them in with minimal delays.
This hotel is in a great location. Close to Times Square but not in it, and walking distance to several shops, pharmacies, grocery, restaurants, etc. I also really enjoyed the staff and was able to get fast help when needed. I also think the size of the room was fabulous for NYC and the location. I expected something much smaller, but it was perfect for just me. The toiletries were on point as well.
The hotel is on a nice street close to two metro stations. Most attractions in NYC are easily accessible from these subway stations. The rooms are tiny but similar to most hotels in NYC. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Penn Station and is convenient to get to by train from EWR. If you want to be away from the crowds and craziness of times square, this is the neighborhood for you.
The hostel is very well located - just few minutes from the Central Park and 2 minutes from the subway which takes about 15 minutes to be on 42nd - Times Square for example. Though being a really big hostel with a lot of people changing every day, the bathrooms are very clean. And is is very nice to meet people from all around the world.
Hotel is clean, rooms are nice, staff is helpful. Unfortunately, that part of Times Square is so seedy. Picked the location because of its proximity to theater. It was close and convenient. Didn’t know how bad the neighborhood had become.
Hotel is in a PRIME location in the middle of Times Square underneath the ball and right beside the subway, but is still quiet and comfortable! Nice clean rooms as well with big, comfy beds. Highly recommend this property in New York.
Loved the location near times square. The room size was expected given New York City. But a good use of space, and a nice modern, clean room. The hotels recommendation of the city parking garage two avenues away was great…
There was construction going on at the hotel in the morning. it's New York near Times Square, the noise blended in with the neighborhood.
The hotel is ok for a quick stay, it is located between Central Park and Times Square, close to a lot of the city's main attractions
Functional hotel for our stay, close to Times Square and quiet
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
