Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
The location of this property is perfect, its in Times Square area. The room was big enough for ne and i had nice sleep because the bed and pillow was so comfortable. I like this type of hotel where they provide mini kitchen, so that I could waem up my food or cook something easy, its nice touch. I stayed for two nights and i could say that my stay was perfect, i hope i could stay longer, may be next time when i visit new york again.
Staff was exceptional, especially Megan and one of the managers, though I can’t recall his name. Location was close enough to Times Square, but far enough away that the noise wasn’t intrusive. Hotel was clean, and even though daily housekeeping is discontinued due to COVID, we were able to get everything we needed when calling the front desk. We were able to check in upon arrival even though it wasn’t quite check in time.
The location was perfect for the activities that we planned to do. Pleasant walking to Central Park, the Met, 5th Ave, Times Square, etc. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast offerings were plentiful. Afternoon wine and cheese was a pleasant surprise. This is a compact hotel, but had all the amenities that we needed at a very attractive price.
Reasonably priced in comparison to similar hotels nearby. Here are all the trade offs you would make for low the price: 1)Small room 2) Bad sound insulation 3) Clogged shower drain 4) Old bathroom fittings 5) Very expensive parking The good: 1) Friendly staff 2) Proximity to times square and subway stations 3) Good eateries near by
+ Attractive location; the Times Square is just a few walking minutes away, and there is also a subway station nearby ("Port Authority"). Very lively area 24 hours a day! + The price is quite inexpensive for a hotel in New York at this location. + The hotel room is clean, and the elevator is fast and convenient.
The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The location was good and close to Broadway, Times Square and close to multiple restaurants. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The hotel stored our bags when we had to check out so that we could continue our exploration of New York City.
Breakfast was good, lots of choices and good hours. It was very busy and staff was doing all they could to keep food out and area cleaned. Hotel is well located. Close but far enough from Times Square. Very close to Bryant park and a subway station.
We love this hotel, the rooms are big for NYC, and the location is great. Close enough to the hustle and bustle to be walkable, but far enough away so that it is a bit quieter than being near/in Times Square.
For New York (where hotel rooms tend to be on the small side), the room I got was quite comfy. The location is also very centric, right across the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and 3 blocks from Times Square.
The shower was very nice and modern and the bed was very comfortable. My son and I enjoyed the pool and sauna and the hotel was in a great location with close proximity to Times Square.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
