- From $289.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 361 reviewsTerrance was brilliant, i arrived slightly later then expected, but was greeted well and prompty show my room for the duration of the stay. Traditional English Manor turned into a B&B, Bed was comfortable, TV, ample lights. Hot chocolate, Coffee and Tea avaliable in the rooms. Towels, Robes and personal soap and shower cap provided. Breakfast was brilliant, again traditional english/upper class apperance. See photos below. Waiter was polite and attentive. Overall very warm welcome, i only stayed the one night, but when in the area again i'll be sure to book. I enjoyed reading the history and the various paintings around the old house, including an old Charter from the 1800s. Highly recommended.Guest review byChezneyUnited Kingdom

Well they know how to deliver a customer focused , high quality service and they make you feel that you are important and valued The staff were clearly happy .. that lets us a lot about the culture here. I would recommend this place Food and restaurants were superb The rooms were quiet , full of all facilities , comfortable and luxury Thankyou for such a wonderful stay Zac and Zoe were wonderful staff . - From $237.62 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 5,540 reviews10 out of 10. The whole experience was fantastic especially since it was our Honeymoon we couldn't have asked for a better stay. I mentioned when booking for a jug of dairy free milk, which we received in the room but also in a fridge which from my understanding not all rooms come with, again this was going above the call of duty. The room was amazing and cleaned to perfection. We ordered room service which again was second to none and when we dined at the on site restaurant again absolutely fantastic. We've already suggested that we will be coming back next year for our first anniversary.Guest review byLukeUnited Kingdom
- From $257.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,696 reviewsI had a superb experience at Mary Mount Hotel! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which added a magical touch to our visit. Being so close to Keswick made it incredibly convenient for exploring the area, yet the hotel itself felt like a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The combination of excellent service, stunning views, and a prime location made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 540 reviewsFood quality was great. Bit more variety on the evening meals would help for those staying longer than 4 days but that is being picky. Fantastic breakfast - if there is something you want but cannot find on the buffet then ask the chefs - all very helpful. The spa was amazing and great for a rainy day. Location is perfect for walks and local communities. Room was cozy and comfortable. For 6 days we could have done with booking a bigger room - it is worth checking the options for longer stays - but the bed was super comfy and we wish we'd bought the robes.Guest review byArronUnited Arab Emirates

A lovely place to visit.
A lovely place to visit. Lots of good local shops, cafes and restaurants that were nearby. Buses 599 open top available to get to other places and train station with good connections if you don't want to drive. We enjoyed visiting Ambleside, Bowness, Coniston and Grasmere. We took a boat out on Windermere from Low Woods, the car ferry to Hawkeshead and the boat trip on Lake Coniston. A walk down to the lake directly from Windermere via Birthwaite Road leads you to two small jetties where people were swimming, paddle boarding and people watching. In Windermere, Home Ground Cafe is a great place for breakfast but be prepared to queue. Tillys bar did a good fish and chips. Cafe Italia for pizza etc.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Our Hotel was Burn How within 5 minutes walking distance of the cruise ships. We took 2 trips on separate days, one to Ambleside to the north of Lake Windermere and the other longer trip south to Lakeside. There one could visit an aquarium and take a 15 minute steam train ride returning to Bowness on a later cruise ship. The only disappointment was that most eating places close at 5pm so the choice is therefore limited unless of course you have oodles of cash.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

First time in Lake District and it is very pretty although we found it very expensive for everything: the boat trip, parking, ice creams, eating out and even charging for public toilets. Don’t think we’ll be back. We didn’t think there was enough to do as a family on a budget.Guest review byLindsey - 8.0

Kendal is a great base for lake district trip. While ambelside would be more central, Kendal is more affordable. There are also a number of places to view in kendal like castle, abott museum, levens hall etc.Guest review byNitinUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The people at Grange over Sands appear to make an effort to keep the town clean and tidy. It has a lovely park and flower displays in various locations. The people also seem very friendly. The mile long promenade is nice to walk along and the planting alongside is well managed.Guest review byReneUnited Kingdom
