We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, and the room was in excellent condition. The shower was spotless, the room was warm and comfortable, and the view from the window was beautiful. The street is quiet, but at the same time there are plenty of nice restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby for different budgets. The hotel is very close to the метро and bus stops, which makes getting around very easy. Many major attractions can also be reached on foot. Breakfast was simple but varied enough to start the day well. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant stay — we would definitely come back.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good London was.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good London was. Not as grimy as we were expecting. The Underground on certain lines is looking dated and grubby though - needs attention. London is an expensive city to visit. Be prepared to pay dearly for teas, lunches and dinners. The cost of a glass of wine is outrageous at between 9 and 11 Pounds! Beer the same - around 7-8 Pounds a pint. There are many things to do and places to explore so search for the free ones as the paid attractions are very costly (eg 33 Pounds to visit the Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall and 27 Pounds to go into St Pauls!!) We had great weather thankfully. It's a beautiful city when the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing.

Great location for heathrow airport and on the shuttle bus route, good value, good breakfast, clean room and helpful staff. Just a pity you did not provide complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Its such a small gesture but can make all the difference, especially when returning from a long haul flight. kettle and mugs are provided in the room and tea bags etc can be purchased from the restaurant if you can be bothered.

I recently stayed at Heatherbank Guest House.

I recently stayed at Heatherbank Guest House. The location is relatively convenient for Stansted Airport – about an hour by car transfer – and the staff were friendly enough. As my room did not have a microwave, they kindly allowed me to use the kitchen one. The room and bathroom were clean, with fresh towels provided daily, which I appreciated. However, one major issue left me quite frustrated. On the morning of my departure, I had an early flight at 7 am and needed to wake up at 3 am. To my surprise, the electricity (or main lighting) in my room and bathroom was completely off. I had to shower using my phone’s flashlight. Thankfully, I had finished packing the night before, as doing so in pitch darkness would have been impossible. I checked, and it wasn’t just my room – the small room between my entrance and the main hallway also had no power. Only the main hallway lights were on, which was a relief, as otherwise carrying two heavy suitcases downstairs would have been extremely unsafe. This situation made me think: what if a guest were ill and needed the bathroom at night, a breastfeeding mother needing light, or someone returning late in the evening? I had noticed the generator (or main power) going on and off during the two previous nights as well, with a short power surge to the mini fridge, which was quite noisy. This is an important matter that should be communicated to guests and fixed promptly. While the cleanliness and some of the staff’s helpfulness were positives, this power outage experience left me feeling stressed and disappointed.
