Location was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised at breakfast, we had freshly made omelettes , fresh apple and orange juice, croissants, toast, coffee tea. All with a smile . The room was clean, we had a double bed and a single bed. For the price you pay it’s all very good.

It’s dated , could do with new carpets and painted white throughout.

No hot breakfast before 9am - Not made clear at time of booking. I was told the Chef doesnt come in til 9am, not helpful for anyone with a big day ahead that has to leave anytime before 8.30 ish. Continental breakfast smacked of a money saving exercise, a few boxes of cereal, yogurt pots and a coffee machine crammed onto a small counter. I was given a small room upstairs with tiny bathroom, no shelves to put anything on and old style electric shower with low water pressure despite paying for a room with a bath. Didnt appreciate music playing so loud in bar when I was trying to get to sleep, thankfully it abruptly stopped at 11pm after I had been in bed for an hour. The irony and final straw was Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" blasting out below me. Would have been good to have a better selction of tea rather than the standard cheap tea and coffee in room. Maybe I could have asked for a different selection but why not just put it in the room like everyone else does? Wifi down to 1 bar in bedroom. Not able to put dinner onto the booking.com reservation and pay all in one go as I can everywhere else so had to pay with personal physical card which I will have to claim back from my employer at the end of the month. Was left wondering if this was another a money saving exercise or more lack of detail. Suspect some will love the themed bar and motorsport on the TV whilst having dinner and the little sachet of car shampoo given to you with some mints after dinner. Also suspect that some will think this is definately not the place for them I am normally easily pleased, but left feeling overcharged at £90 and not happy having to go to macdonalds (always only an emergency option) down the road at 8am to get some hot food. Some people will love the motorsport theme everywhere, will be happy with calling a few boxes of cereal and yoghurt "a good selection." I wasnt.

Nothing wrong with the property at all but if you want to walk to and from town to use the pubs and restaurants you’ll need a good set of legs, the hill isn’t called The Struggle for nothing
