The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

It is actually an apartment transformed into a hotel. I only stayed one night. I think I was the only traveller so I don't know how it is like when it is full. Everything was fine and clean. It was very quiet (because I was alone). It's conveniently located near the train station and the touristic attraction in the port. I could leave my bag after check out but it cannot be watched by a staff member so you need to rely on the honesty of other possible travelers. I guess that as long as you don't leave any valuable, it should be fine.

Not necessarily a down side but depending on when you check in/out, you don't meet any staff (which I guess makes it a cheaper option). So it's almost like an Airbnb where you get all the info on the phone. On the other hand, the staff was very responsive by message so I could easily communicate with them.

The room was clean and well decorated for comfort. The lady who seemed to be the manager ( Donna) was very friendly, polite and helpful. In fact we loved her input and influenced our pleasant experience. The breakfast was good but The food wasn’t the best especially the chips weren’t eatable. They were dark colour, mushy and disgusting.

Seating area in the pub needs refurbishing.

The cottage is in a great location with lovely views over the valley and town and offers very comfortable accommodation. Tweed Cottage is also within easy walking distance of the centre of Jedburgh, which has great cafes and some quirky shops as well as a useful supermarket.

We didn't like the idea of a half-eaten packet of biscuits and a similarly half-consumed tub of ice cream being left in situ. Also, we were lucky enough to visit Scotland during a spell of warm weather and therefore found the very heavy duvet in the main bedroom uncomfortable. It would be an improvement if a spring/summer duvet could be an option. Neither of these things spoilt our stay but just a little bit more attention to detail would have made it even better.

No private parking. Fridge breakfast wasn’t great - maybe better simply in a basket out of the fridge.
