Good breakfast with a lot of choice. Lovely gardens and Lake. Provision of water in bedrooms. Good parking. Friendly staff and very attentive. Very large comfortable bed and room was spacious. Very fluffy towels and dressing gowns were provided. Lots of hot water for bath. Iron and fan available for use. Delicious main course and pudding in evening meal.

Bedroom and some areas like the downstairs toilets were very tired looking and there were dirty marks on ladies downstairs toilet walls and doors. Also floors tiles in bathroom were loose and window frames need repainting. Long Black hair on towel in bathroom when we arrived. Apart from that, however, the rooms were very clean. Only one packet of 2 biscuits in the room (most other hotels give you a packet each). Toiletries were a bit sweet and florally smelling for my liking (but that is a personal preference). Starters had very little taste to them. in the sauces and meal overpriced for the quantities. No atmosphere in the room we were dining in (hoping for a romantic meal for my birthday, but no ambience in the dining area). Meals did feel a bit pressured as staff at times were too attentive and plates whipped away as soon as you put your cutlery down and once before I had even finished. I just feel a few little things could have been down to make it worth the money paid.

Location is second to none. . Room was what I expected. Facilities, decorations and bar were great. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Umbrellas available at the door for rent and when returned money refunded. Very nice touch getting the vouchers for Frameless museum.

Breakfast was good but would be better if the drinks brought to your table by all the staff available. Too much getting up and down for breakfast so food might be cold when you arrive back with tea or coffee or visa versa. Could get check in a bit earlier as 3pm very late.

Breakfast finished at 9am which was a bit inconvenient for us. There was also some miscommunication between the bar and the hotel parts of the business which became a little confusing when paying the bill.

The room and bathroom are very nice but the bedroom floor area does not leave much space at bottom of the king size bed. Travelling by car requires communication with hotel as drop off on double yellow lines may prove stressful for some drivers.

Initially reception staff, totally clueless. Check it was at 3, didn’t get in room till nearly 4. No sense of urgency and timing.
