All staff were welcoming, from where I sat watching the chefs putting meals together calmy and with care was a joy... a very calm environment to enjoy my meal. The bar area looks out on to the cheshire countryside, the sunset was beautiful

The steak meal we had in the restaurant was first class. All staff were pleasant and friendly.

The price. For the room size and experience, unfortunately it was overpriced. The room was small as was the en suite. We expected a larger room and better quality of decor and amenities for £160 /night. The shower drained so slowly that the shower tray filled up to our ankles with water to give our feet a wash! The water pressure was intermittent when using the water taps and flushing the toilet, going hot and cold in the shower and sink. We were in room 1 (had to move from room 2 when we arrived which had twin beds not a double as per our booking), next to service lift (we think) which was noisy at about 6am. Location was ideal for The Crucible and Lyceum Theatre but not the most salubrious part of the City.

The plumbing is very old so the toilet was not working and the stream in the shower was very poor, almost impossible to take a shower.
