Positive section of review
The bedroom was nice and comfortable and the bedding was clean and fresh. The TV was nice and big and being a smart TV was great so we could sign into Netflix etc. The owner was replacing the kettle and faulty light which was good following the note we left and was very responsive. We did enjoy our stay and the place was lovely and warm. New Quay and Cardigan worth a visit.

We expected a text before checked in which we didn't get although it said to call the owner if not. Very frustrating to find the place. Spent a good half hour trying to find it and when we called the owner and said where we were she told us to go up the hill and turn at the mirror which we did and ended up in a private house which was difficult to turn the car around. The road was really steep and as many people have said you DO need a sign at the entrance off the road to say you have arrived. The place looked much more run down that the booking.com pics which was disappointing. A cafetiere would be nice as others have said (£10 easy fix) and I think its important to say about the steep road to the property. We didn't go to the beach as a problem hip wouldn't have coped with the steep roads. Bit of paint to the front, a sweep up and a bit of weeding would have make all the difference. An introduction book would be good too with useful info about the place and area and the mirror in the downstairs bathroom was way too low ! Minor changes, all would be very welcome to future holiday makers and we still enjoyed our break.

Nothing went well! Staff were unhelpful. Manager was patronising. It was a good location for us but the experience was left wanting. Went elsewhere and had a better experience. Only gave 2 for location. We both left the hotel feeling very shaken and tearful.

There was a mix up on booking dates for my trip. Receptionist and manager just kept saying call booking.com over and over again. As they well know booking.com would not have been able to help. Instead of booking me in and sorting things out on the next working day which was tomorrow they both said it was “above their pay grade”. There was no one else I could speak to. When calling IHG I found this was not true as they are open 24/07. What I didn’t know at this stage is that IHG hotels are just franchises and IHG themselves have little or no say on individual customer problems. I won’t be booking an IHG hotel again. No joy since from the franchise holder’s Customer Services. Responses lacked empathy as did the hotel staff. Apparently should be grateful for £75 refund for breakfast and dinner we didn’t have as that is going above and beyond their usual policy!

We arrived at there was no toilet roll in our room so I went to reception to ask for some, the girl said she would get some sent up. We were in a rush so left pretty soon after asking. Once we came back around 12.30am there was still no toilet roll so I asked again at reception was told the same thing, we went to the bar for some drinks to end our night, went to our room around 2am and still no toilet roll. We were in room 242 which is the last room right at end of hotel. I had to make my way yet again to reception to ask again, this time I decided to wait for them to hand me it. For the size of the hotel you would expect toilet roll to be in your room. Once we were back in the room for the night, we noticed red stain marks on the curtains, I can only expect it to be blood which really made our evening very uncomfortable.
