All the staff from Debbie & friends at check in,to all the bar & restaurant staff & John in the spa were all amazingly friendly & helpful.eating out can be difficult as a coaliac but the menu both for breakfast & dinner were very good for Glutenfree options & the staff very understanding.we used the spa which was great & John was again very welcoming & helpful to us during our visit.The hotels location was great as we were going to colchester zoo which was a 10 minute drive away.A perfect few days of relaxation.Thankyou all very much for a lovely stay,we will definitely be returning.😁😁👍👍

The property was very well presented, easily meeting the standard shown in the official photos. It would be hard to find a better location, remote enough to feel special but with facilities available for supplies (with a little planning). The views of the landscape and wildlife were really excellent.

Excellent receptionist when we arrived and friendly staff. Great location to visit RHS Harlow Carr. Good free parking. Comfortable bed. Looks impressive from outside. Good bathroom, but the silicone around the bottom on the shower enclosure had patches of black mould.

Interior is looking tired. Chair seat cushions in the dining room were stained. The carpet in our room looked liked it needed cleaning. The fish pond in the garden looked a mess instead of being an attractive feature.

Who I assumed was the owner gave us excellent recommendations for things to do and bus lines to take into the city. It was just a quick 10 minute bus ride wherever we wanted to go. Breakfast was delicious and we never left there in the morning hungry.

There is nothing that I didn't like. Everything was secure and splendid. If I had to pick one thing, it would be to have a do not disturb sign for the door or something to tell them we don't need the staff to make up our rooms while we are gone.

Central location, parking available at £15 per day. Nice modern apartment with basic kitchen facilities. Very pleasant man on reception. Dog friendly.
