We've stayed at the Black Lion before, so we knew we were in for a fabulous stay. It didn't disappoint. Dinner was amazing, the room was perfect, and the breakfast the next day was fabulous - home made bread and jam and the cooked breakfast looked great. I had the most delicious bowl of porridge, and I don't know how you make porridge so nice, but the chef managed!

The rooms, bathrooms, public areas - everything - was clean and well maintained. All of the staff and managers were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great ! Plenty of parking. Foody pub right next door. Local taxis were efficient and easy to book from reception.

Honestly - nothing... Well, thinking hard, there was the occasional glitch with the WiFi in the room... But it was fine in the bar/reception and everywhere else.

We had a lovely 4-night stay in this boutique-style B&B, close to the beach. Our immaculate room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. A tasty breakfast set us up each day for exploring the Jurassic Coast. A fabulous find for fossil hunters!

the lack of parking and the cost of the nearest parking bay was ridiculous, £40 to park for 24 hours is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination

There was also a wedding on and we were right next to the room it was just so noisy . There were only a few disabled spaces and so we had to park further away.

I think the rooms bar the bathrooms definitely need an upgrade. I payed for an executive room and I don’t think it was worth the money. Room felt very old, parts of walls were falling off, water leaking in through the window, paint flaking off, window latch was broken, stains on floor, creaking floorboards and kettle felt very old too.

No hot water in the bathroom didn't even try the shower.., tea and coffee not refilled during our stay. Bar closed at 10pm but not informed. Outside play area in poor state with rope covering coming off leaving wire exposed and the parts of the building in a poor state of repair .
