Steep stairs to our room and the floor in the room was the nosiest I have ever come across, the floor creaked when ever you walked on and it was loud enough to wake my partner.

19/06/2024 Management Team Jersey Arms Hotel Bicester, United Kingdom Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my profound disappointment and disapproval regarding my recent stay at the Jersey Arms Hotel in Bicester. From the moment of our arrival, the experience was far below the standards that any guest should expect from a hotel, particularly at the rate of £180 for two nights. Upon entering the hotel, we were immediately greeted by an unpleasant smell of dampness. The carpets leading to our room appeared unclean and seemed as though they had not been vacuumed in quite some time. When we entered our room, we discovered several unacceptable issues: - We were not informed that the doors required manual locking upon exiting, which is not standard practice in most hotels. - The room itself was poorly maintained: ceiling wallpaper was peeling, and there was mould in both the room and the bathroom. The anti-slip mat in the bath was covered in mould. - The bathroom was so small that it was not fit for purpose, making basic personal hygiene tasks difficult. Additionally, the bathroom door did not close fully. Our concerns extended beyond the condition of our room. When we inquired about local taxi services, a staff member offered to drive us for £15, claiming that using a registered taxi service would cost £25. However, when we contacted a local taxi company, we were quoted only £12. This unregistered and overpriced offer not only felt exploitative but also posed serious safety risks. Furthermore, your website falsely advertises amenities such as a bar and restaurant, neither of which were operational during our stay. The continental breakfast provided was of very low quality, consisting of cheap bread, butter, and jam. Despite informing the staff of my lactose intolerance and requesting a dairy alternative to milk, I was given semi-skimmed milk, showing a clear lack of understanding and consideration for dietary needs.
