The hotel is very nicely decorated and has very friendly staff. The location is good. There are a number of good restaurants in the direction of Leith Walk.

I had a room at the very top of the building. The stairs were a challenge all the way up, especially with luggage. Thankfully, the staff helped with luggage. The TV in the room did not work, which did not get resolved during my stay. There is no safe or fridge in the room. The windows only opened very slightly, so getting air into the room was very slow. Overall, the hotel is nice, but at 200 British Pounds a night, I would have expected more value for money.

I stayed here with 5 friends and it had everything we needed, the bedrooms were all spacious. 5 minutes walk into the city 💯 recommended

Very dog friendly. Nice room if a little small, though bathroom big! Great breakfast, evening meals were ok if a little expensive.

More food options that were less expensive, especially at lunchtime. Had linguine for dinner £21 !

The surrounding area is nice and the hotel looks good, a former stately home.

The standard of the de vere hotel we have used over the years, imo, has deteriorated. We asked for a quiet room, apparently we got one, but it was surrounded by guests who seemed to know each other for two nights. A dog woke us up at 1.30am barking; they were opposite us! The breakfast was served well by the staff but the food was just average fry up with very little fresh food choice. Overall, got home and wanted another quiet break.

Good location, pleasant helpful staff.

No lift which wad not on booking.com website info. it is made clear on the hotels own website so an issue for booking.com. Walking 4 flights with bags not enjoyable.

I didn't realise it was part of a popular student bar so noisier than I expected. The hotel is not very clean, with hair all over the bed and bathroom. The continental breakfast, which is served in the sticky student bar, isn't worth the consideration. The wifi was down for a day and not heating. They said it was on a central timer but, never came on and instead gave us a small portable heater.
