Qwerky family run hotel full of 15th-century charm and olde world eccentricities. Rooms were 'modern medieval' with sloping everything, original features, but with modern conveniences. Great bed, and the ensuite had a great shower. Very friendly and helpful staff offering great advice on things to do and places to eat. Nice, free, continent breakfast (or cooked for a reasonable price). Parking permit issued by the hotel saves money on 24-hour fee.

It's easy access to the town and how clean and tidy it was. It was also very well furnished with a lot of extra bits not always provided in other rentals. Would happily return.

A proper shower over the bath in the main bathroom would have been a bonus. We were two couples sharing which meant the couple in the second bedroom didn't have use of a shower as the only shower was in the ensuite. However a family would probably not find this an issue.

My only comment would be that the shower could do with somewhere a shelf, dish or something / somewhere you can put a bar of soap and your shampoo bottle. This is because I struggle to bend down to reach things from floor level.

Unfortunately break was spoilt by the bed badly needing a new mattress! Lumpy with protruding springs you can feel does not make a good sleep which defeats the object of a hotel as to sleep is the selling point. The only reason I didn't score it the lowest points was because the staff were so nice polite and helpful.
