Massively overpriced for what you get. The room was small, no storage for bags, no mini fridge, basic coffee making facilities and a small bed. Room and ensuite poorly finished and noisy (we heard staff using exit to dump rubbish outside our window and other people move around in the hallway and rooms and walking above our room - we were in room number 1). The room was on street below street level so any passers by could see directly into the room unless the blind was closed. No onsite parking, only street parking at additional cost. Breakfast was additional cost (we paid £215 per night for just accomodation). No additional facilities such as gym, pool, sauna etc - I struggle to see where the 4 star rating came from? The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful though and centrally located.......although this doesn't even come close to warranting the excessive price.

The Victoria Hotel on the Isle of Bute offers a prime location with its breathtaking marina and ocean views, especially from the lounge dining area where you can truly appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Our room was on the 2nd floor; do note that the hotel does not have a lift, which wasn't a problem for us but might be worth considering for those with mobility issues.

As charming as it is, being an old wooden structure, the hotel has its quirks, such as the persistent squeak of the floorboards, which can be particularly noticeable at night. However, the hosts more than make up for any minor inconveniences with their warm hospitality and eagerness to please. While the exterior could benefit from a fresh coat of paint, the interior is well maintained, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Overall, the Victoria Hotel provides a wonderful base to enjoy the stunning locale, and despite a few niggles, it's a place I'd recommend for its character and exceptional location.

Location, breakfast was delicious…loved the added touch of choice of eggs on request and a menu to choose from + buffet. Staff were also lovely.

We stayed in the king room, my only complaint is that the bed was 2 king singles pushed together, there was no mattress topper which was strange. Beds were still comfy but my husband and I were very aware that we were separated by a gap. We still slept well and everything else was great.

Its location. The food was very tasty though it seemed as if any remaining ingredients were being used up in the kitchen. Nice lobby.

The senior member of staff rushed our meal and kept staring at us waiting to finish so he could close up. The bar didn’t remain open in situ to residents. We couldn’t avail of breakfast the next morning (even though we’d paid for it) because it started later on a Sunday! Would have been nice before going to the airport. Overpriced for the standard of the property.

Location was fantastic. Lobby area and lifts were clean and welcoming. The bedding was clean and fresh, always a good start.

Hotel is having a major refurbishment so obviously there are tired areas like hallways and doors to rooms. The room itself was tired, the blind in the window didn't work, everything just tired. Think it is unfair to comment too harshly as the hotel is obviously aware of what is needed and is rectifying it.
