Travel Gurus sharing their best tips

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

There are some weird acoustics in this place and the building suffers oddly from noise even though it has brand new double glazing. Fans and vents were constantly humming (even though our bathroom fan was off), there were weird rumblings that shook the floor in the night, and music/partying that sounded a like it was coming from the bar, but when we went downstairs the bar was very quiet and almost empty! We didn't mind the music as it stopped by midnight but it was rather a mystery as to where it was coming from and why you couldn't hear it in the rest of the hotel. The main gripe was noisy cleaners crashing round and banging doors at 5am - it's been mentioned on reviews before so it seems a bit disrespectful when they know people have paid good money to sleep, and you cant really sleep before midnight due to the music. It wasn't even necessary sound (e.g. hoovers), seemed more like careless or deliberate door banging and stomping which could easily be avoided. We were told it only happens on a Wednesday morning but as we only stayed one night, I cant vouch for that. Maybe Tuesday night should be 25% off in that case.

The location was perfect for the AO arena, bars & restaurants. 7 minutes walk to Manchester Victoria station. The apartment itself was quiet.

    • Negative section of review

I personally felt the apartment was overpriced. I paid over £500 for 2 nights. There was no handsoap in the bathroom, no hand towel, no bathmat. There were no tea towels in the kitchen . For the price I paid, these are basic items. You also have to get the keys to the property from a local shop. This is annoying when travelling. Invest in a lock box.

Upgraded room overlooked the bin store and waste water bubbled up into the bath. Was sorted, but left a bit of a cringe feeling about having a bath.
