I booked a dog friendly family room for my son, his wife, baby and dog and they had an amazing time here. The staff were unbelievably welcoming and accommodating and went out of their way to look after them all. Really delightful. Nothing was too much trouble including complimentary home baked cakes in reception! We were also welcomed to visit them. The property was right in the middle of Grasmere, there was free parking, the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and freshly decorated to a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was also delicious!!

The breakfast buffet was pretty good but the coffee was not nice it mixed powdered milk in a machine and was not the best but there was a good selection of well presented food and a really nice area to sit in with plenty of space for many guests to sit. the room was very clean and updated nicely with cute pictures on the wall. Gym was good and 24 hour access. Staff were friendly and worked very hard on a busy weekend.

The hotel was not able to accommodate request to check in an hour and a half early, even with months' notice (this may be different for a more plentiful type of room- maybe it was just because we had a family room which is a more rare type of room and a busy weekend). The view from the room was of a construction site and the air con circulated in a way that froze my head while I slept and the sofa bed was very very firm for our child. No parking and not cheap.

No facility for breakfast. First room and first night, TV not working; booked for 3 single beds but we had 1 double and one single. Spoke to staff at the reception who kindly offered us another room with 3 single beds on our second night. Forgot her name, she was lovely.

Clean stylish room. Good location near waterfront. Coffee and tea in room. Sink in room. Breakfast very good. WiFi good. Quiet and I slept well.

No staff available to ask questions at check in or at check out (self check-in). My room had a shared toilet which was easily accessed just outside of room itself but couldn't find shower room and it turned out to be two floors down. Info pack in room could have a hotel floor map indicating where shower room is and perhaps a few more details if there is no staff available. Couldn't issue a receipt which I needed and requested for compensation from my employer. Room needed a coaster for coffee mug to not damage furniture and a box of tissues in room for guests. For the same price, I've had a double room, en-suite with full breakfast in Cardiff so not convinced this was great value for money and I have also stayed in hostels in tourist areas with the similar systems that have been half the price.

Everything was lovely, staff, hotel, everything was clean and the location was bang right in the middle of town.

The mattress was not comfy - thin with minimal pillows. Decor made for an experience similar to staying in a teenager’s bedroom. The bathroom was full of untidy and erratic caulk. The water pressure in the shower was weaker than rainwater.
