We had a lovely stay here. Jo has thought about the traveller… there is just about everything you could possibly need for a few days away. From a shower cap, to every type of fruit tea, to toothpicks, to a specific towel for people who have newly dyed hair! Jo cooks a fab breakfast, all freshly prepared. You may have to wait for 10 mins for your full English, but it’s worth the wait! Dale View is nicely situated for walks into the mountains. The beach is a five minute drive from the property.

The room only had a top opening window, so the room was a little too warm for me. There is a fan in the room, but I don’t like a fan ‘whirring’ away all night.

Just perfect for an overnight stay for us - great to cook our own meal and the highlight was the washing machine. Arrived cold and wet but the flat warmed up quickly. Great communication from owner re entry which was easy. Central location for Scottish border abbeys.

The property was quaint, quirky, comfortable and country - reminiscent of a bygone era of grand country establishments - we loved it. The staff were lovely - cooked breakfast to order - bar, library , lounge, outdoor seating area - it was great value for money.

They didn't give instructions straight away for check in, i had to ask. When i asked, the email with instructions didn't come through for some time. I was also told the incorrect instructions twice. First i was told the yellow keys, then i was told the blue keys but it was the orange keys that we needed to get. I tried to call owner with the number provided but the phone was turned off. There were a lot of stairs to climb and lug our suitcases up.

For the cost, and when described as a luxury hotel; it doesn't fit the bill, not well maintained. Broken fixtures in the bedroom and received a very impersonal service from staff.
