The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Location was excellent - couldn't be better. If I stay again I may try to time it for an event at the theatre next door. Continental breakfast had plenty of choice, and though I missed having a cooked breakfast, which is the one thing I really love on the rare occasions I stay away from home, I understand why it isn't possible as there appeared to only one, very hard-working, lady who was doing everything. But the freshly made toast was appreciated. The room had everything we needed, including tea & coffee-making facilities - essential after walking around in a city whose tea shops are insanely expensive. Staff were very friendly and helpful - full marks to them all.

The room was small and fitted, quite ingeniously, into the attic of the building. As it's a historic building I can fully understand why it's not possible to make certain alterations, but the steep, narrow stairs would make it difficult for anyone with mobility issues (which fortunately my wife and I don't have, but nevertheless is a point to be aware of). It was a hot weekend and you can't open the window beyond a tiny crack, so there is a lack of fresh air - in the height of summer I imagine it becomes uncomfortably hot, despite the fan provided. There is a fair amount of noise from the street after closing time. Canterbury's pubs seem to attract a rather rowdy, hard-drinking clientele from miles around, and the presence in the city of numerous screechy hen groups didn't help. None of these things are really within the hotel's control, but the slow draining from the shower and the presence of a bath that couldn't be used (because there was no plug for it) probably could be remedied.

The studio was so nice and cosy, very clean and many thoughtful touches such as charging cables by the bedside. It was in a quiet neighbourhood, and feels quite secluded despite being in the owners back garden. Hot tub was nice. The owner was so kind and offered to change our booking by a day when we missed the first night due to our car breaking down on route! I would never have expected that.

Nothing really, if i was going to nitpick maybe some cooking oil would have been great. There was however lots of other condiments including butter so used that.

It was near to the shops and cafes but also had a lovely sea view. It was fully equipped, beautifully furnished, very homely and comfortable. It was quiet. Lovely having tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room and also a couple of plates and knives and forks if we brought any food. Really comfortable stay.

I thought someone was going to be there. I do not have a mobile and was contacting by email. When we got there no one was there - I managed to get on to my email with my husband's phone after a bit of a palaver and there was an email about the keys sent at 13,00 hours. We had left home at 9 in the morning so I hadn't received it. Luckily I was able to get the email on my husband's mobile else we would have been a bit lost. It would be good to get the email about keys and room the night or a couple of nights before so we could have printed out the instructions. I will alert the owners next time and ask them to send details before we set off.

Hotel was ideally situated- only very short distance away from M6 exit & was ideal stopping off point for a journey half way from N.West Wales to Ardrossan, Scotland Hotel only about a mile from centre of historic Lancaster town centre. Nice lovely twin room on the ground floor

When we enquired about an evening meal in their restaurant ,we were informed they had a large coach party booked, & suggested we might prefer to walk across the road to the Brewers Fare,Premier Inn which made bar type meals & would perhaps save us waiting time . ! We obviously took up their offer !

Everything was as expected after reading a few reviews before selecting the place. My wife has walking difficulties so want somewhere that was completely on the ground floor and close to where I parked the car. Everything inside the property was clean and in, as new condition.

This is not a complaint but a suggestion. The step to the main entrance is a little bit high for someone with walking difficulties and would benefit with an interim step to make life easier.

Excellent utensils and kitchen. Great for cooking. Lovely view over parkland from back door and balcony so a nice place to relax.

One of us has mobility issues so the stairs were a bit steep and the different levels in the bathroom resulted in a few stumbles - luckily, no falls. The bath was lovely but difficult to get out of for someone with mobility issues.
