lovely location, great views, very close to lots of interesting places. The house was very spacious and comfortable, so great for 6 adults and a child and baby. Everywhere local was nice and quiet and no problem parking on site. Great big kitchen and diner, and space for the dog. The cot and high chair requested were there for us, however, the straps on the high chair were broken, but not really a problem for us.

communicating with Sykes Holiday Cottages. Tried WhatsApp, SMS, email and phone with little or no joy, caused considerable frustration. Standard generated messages, probably AI which was more automated than intelligent.

We've stayed here several times and have always been happy. The location is excellent, really central, and yet the rooms are quiet. There's not a huge amount of space in the room and limited hanging but for a weekend or a little more it's fine, and the bed is very comfortable which is the most important thing!

Breakfast is quite expensive unless you plan to eat a lot, so we skipped that and ate elsewhere (Blakes, just a few doors away, does an excellent breakfast)

Lovely location, good service and good food. The duck egg and asparagus starter was excellent. The room was very comfortable with a window seat looking out onto river. Good coffee and cafetiere in room.

There were too many emails asking me to check in online. Check in at property was fast and efficient, even though I hadn't checked in on line. I can't see the point of online check in unless it is for them to obtain additional personal information that is not actually required. Food and service were a little variable. It was excellent on the first day. On the second night the caesar salad didn't meet expectations (wet lettuce with some bits not the best quality) and the service wasn't so good at breakfast. Not bad enough to complain just didn't meet the high standards set on the first day.

A comfortable, well appointed room close to bus station ( 2 minutes), train station (10 minutes. The hosts were welcoming and a good source of information.

I can get a direct train from home to Gatwick. Hotel location next to the airport for an early morning flight.

Kettle and tea/coffee tray had to be moved to a location where there was a socket at the other side of the room. It took me a while to find the hairdryer.

The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly, hairs in the bath and under the lid of the toilet and dirty water in the loo. Marks on sink. Had to clean bathroom myself before we could use it. Didn't bother going back down to speak to the staff as they didn't really seemed bothered with us as they were too busy setting up for a function that had in that evening. When we arrived they didn't even really seem to be aware of us coming, and initially took is to the wrong room until I found the confirmation and confirmed which room we were suppose to be in
