The location of the hotel will suit people using public transport. The hotel is just a short walk from the train station. Also just outside the train station there are a number of buses giving easy access to the main tourist attractions and the city centre. Because of the train strikes we arrived early and the friendly reception staff were kind enough to store our luggage. leaving us free to visit the Clifton Suspension Bridge before check-in. Our twin room was clean and very comfortable with complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. which is always appreciated. There was a note in the bathroom, offering complementary additional toiletries if guests had forgotten something. I thought that was a lovely touch and reflected the kind and friendly atmosphere. We stayed Bed and Breakfast for two nights. The buffet breakfasts were very good and plenty of choice.

We chose Dellwood (17th-19th April 2024) on a whim, and so glad we did. Bruce and Tracey were the ideal hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We'd booked a double but they were more than happy to set-up a blow-up mattress for our son. They also opened the downstairs bar up for a late afternoon whiskey (or 2) where we found out they knew the farm at Gobagrennan where long distant relatives (ie 1700-1800s) lived and worked . Our stay was fantastic and we would not hesitate to go back. Breakfast was more than ample. It was a great stop and disappointed we could not stay longer. Dog friendly and some great stories told by the hosts...very grateful to Bruce for sharing a (now very treasured) trinket with our son. On our list to return!

Easy to follow instructions for the keypad, the room was lush, and the bed was comfy. The room has a bolt lock it felt safe and secure. The location is fantastic as I was going to the 02 that was 2 minutes away and close to underground for exploring. There are multiple bathrooms, which is great, and the price is really good value.

Some of the bathrooms didn't have toliet paper, but it was okay as others were stocked and could be moved around. To lock my door from the outside, it took a a few tries to figure it out, but you have to push the door towards you while turning the key, not a major issue but could be put in the instructions.

The host and owner Margaret was fantastic! Me and my young brother didn’t want to leave it was so nice. It was super clean and the home cooked food was excellent. Honestly I could not fault anything Will be booking up for next year without a doubt

Friendly staff, room better than expected, room condition is good. The kitchen is well equipped and Nespresso capsule coffee is provided. The facilities provided were good, including a washing machine and oven.

What was disappointing was that there was no hot water when taking a shower, which was inconvenient. Since it was a one-night stay, I didn't mention it, but I think the shower water temperature should be hotter. And, it's too far from central Edinburgh. If you want a comfortable stay, choose a hotel in central Edinburgh.

This time we stayed unfortunately some of the tv channels were unavailable, the main shower didn’t work, and the bedside electrical ports on one side didn’t work.
