Statt were friendly . Location brilliant, but advertised they had leisure centre my main reason for booking this hotel to find upon arrival it was closed for renovation. I would not have choose this as it was more expensive that others around it, it should have said this when I was booking.

Leisure centre closed ....no mention of this while booking, paid extra for this hotel for that reason could have choosen cheaper alternative.

Absolutely loved the lodge it was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Location was great, very quiet. The hot tub was amazing, tv and wifi all worked great.

When we arrived the lodge hadn't been cleaned. Which was very disappointing. There was toothpaste in the sink, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, grease splatter all over the hob and bench. The fireplace metal surround was falling off as well as a plastic seal on the patio doors, which we ended up fixing ourselves as it was dangerous with our children running around. Hopefully this was a one off as the reviews for Darwin Lodge are exceptional and I hate to leave negatives but for the price of this stay it should have been clean. We also accidentally left an expensive coat in the lodge after departure. I have tried to contact multiple times to get this back and pay for it's return and discuss the issues we had when staying before i left a review, however nobody has replied just an automated email. Very disappointed.
