Super location. This was our first point of contact with Cornwall...and we couldn't have asked for anything better to help immerse us within the Cornish environment and history. We were right there overlooking Padstow's picturesque harbour and stone cottages. Super room. This was larger than we thought with plenty of room to sit and watch the world go by just outside our window.

This property was good value. It was very close to a train station that gets you into the centre of London in 30 mins. Our garden view room was very quiet, but certainly an obstructed view of the garden, so not much view. This property has no additional amenities, just your room. Staff is very friendly, and allowed us to leave our bags after arriving from a long overseas flight.

This property is getting outdated. The bed was hard and did the job but nothing extra. The coffee and tea in the room was a nice touch. You have to ask to have your room made up, and when they did it was just okay, as they left some dirty dishes behind from the coffee. The carpets in the hallways were very stained, and I didn’t find it to be exceptionally clean, it certainly is showing its age. Often bags of linens were lying left in the hallway. We had arrived early in the morning knowing our room wouldn’t be ready, but were able to leave our bags and advised we would be back on time. When we arrived to check in, we had to wait an additional hour after their posted check in time to get to our room, disappointing especially when they knew we had arrived from a long over seas flight hours earlier. Just a few small things that didn’t make the stay as great as we had hoped it would be.

Highfield is exceptional in all aspects. The room was immaculate, newly refurbished with a brand new bathroom. Bed was comfortable, check-in and welcome are efficient and very friendly. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and attentively served.

Staff didn’t inform me about an extra £100 is to be paid before you get any information about what flat number, so once I finally got through to someone who could tell me how to get in she then informed me of a £100 fee for damages which does get refunded but it would have been nice to know about this prior to the stay. I found booking . Com an absolute disaster to get hold of they actually ended up blocking my number, and after two hours of trying to get through to Belvilla we got the information about paying this £100 ABSOLUTE JOKE !!
