The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The location, facilities, cleanliness and parking availability. We had no particular reason to contact the hosts Gillian and Ewan but Gillian did keep in touch prior to our stay to inform us about various things and that we could start our stay a few hours early which was very much appreciated. The description of The Wee Blue House says don't be fooled by the size of this property as it " Packs a Punch" which is very true. This is a lovely little house in a great location with a couple of pubs nearby which is always a bonus and also a good little convenience store in the village to for those little essentials. All in all The Wee Blue House was the perfect start to our touring holiday and we will be back for sure. Book it now folks while you still can, you won't regret it. Thanks Gillian & Ewan

Very friendly, very helpful host, nothing was a problem and only a 10 minute walk to the town centre. The room was very clean and spacious. Also value for money and the breakfast was exceptional such a selection.

En suite, desk, chair, kettle, toiletries. Retro lamps and art eschewing a famously freer past. 5min walk from train station, at night go round under the bridge and the turn right(20min walk)

The location opposite a park was pleasant, plus the proximity of good bus lines. It was quite clean. The staff were pleasant when contacted.

Our room. It was cramped, creaky and overheated. It was still hot when we turned the radiators off. Probably because it was in an attic - heat rises. The bed was very lumpy and squeaked a lot. It was very hard to sleep. And the stairs were very steep (although that’s not the fault of the owner). Lonely Planet reviewed the guest house well and praised the breakfast, but that wasn’t served.

This is my 3rd or 4th visit. The staff are wonderful. The room is comfortable and the bathroom was new! Useful to have a fridge as well.

Too expensive! Because of football mach?? It was not my perpose. But unbelievably expensive.. Though there is the public bus stop in front of hotel, public bus didint come. Then we asked taxi...It cost us more expensive than expected. Do not trust English bus system.

The restaurant dinners were awful. I wish we had not had to eat there. No vegetarian option except stir fry Udon noodles, which were not noodles at all but spaghetti! The stir fry veg were tasteless and straight out of a not v fresh supermarket bag. The following evening, I had haddock with sauté potatoes. The fish was fine but the sauté potatoes were under done and inedible .(£22!!!) A Tiramisu had no coffee nor ‘dark rum’, it was tasteless.
