The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We stayed at "Stunning 1 Bed apartment Kings Cross/St Pancras Farringdon" for six nights in April 2024 and overall, it was a good experience, but... there were a few negatives that didn't quite make it a "stunning" experience On the positive side, the apartment is: * spacious, bright, light, airy * clean * well decorated * all the essential facilities * good WiFi * several bus routes under five minutes walk away - Google Maps is invaluable for bus times and routes * excellent, reasonably priced, breakfasts and lunches available at Cafe Maya, a four minute walk away

On the slightly negative side: (Most of these are minor niggles, but may be issues for some people) * The apartment is managed by a faceless property management company. There was no warm welcome from an in-person host here. * Payment and check-in are handled outside of booking.com, through a third-party website. Entering credit card and passport details into a random website felt very much like a scam. Everything was fine, it just wasn't a reassuring experience. * Keys are collected and returned from the convenience store downstairs. Collection on a Sunday afternoon was no problem. Return was looking doubtful on the last day (a Saturday) when the shop wasn't open when we passed at 9am (it should have opened much earlier) before we were due to leave at 10am. Fortunately it had opened by the time we left. We could have done without the worry though. * Location: the actual address is 88 Margery St, i.e. on the corner with Farringdon Road - the A201, a busy "double red line" road. The marker/GPS position on the booking.com map wrongly indicates it being in the middle of Argyle Square, it isn't. * The main windows (Bedroom and Lounge) overlook the Farringdon Road, so expect traffic noise, especially many motorbikes in the morning rush. * Road/traffic noise isn't helped by the poorly adjusted windows which don't close or seal properly (Lounge and Bathroom). * The nearest Underground stations (Kings Cross, Russell Square, Farringdon, Angel) are each 14 minutes walk away. * The apartment is on the second floor, i.e. up two fairly narrow, fairly steep staircases. Some people might struggle, especially with large or heavy luggage. * There was extensive construction work (i.e. more noise) happening across the road (April 2024)

I dislike leaving a less than 10/10 review. The Coledale is a lovely country inn style hotel and we have eaten there many times. Our first stay though. Staff are great, food is fresh and well presented and the portions are very generous. Loads of comfy seating outside in the immaculate garden. Drinks prices are reasonable. Location is very good for Keswick and Catbells. Stay was spoiled by our room, see below.

The bathroom in our room was tiny, shower cubicle barely fit for purpose. Shower took several minutes to heat up and was poor. In the bedroom we could hear the people in the next room using the loo, their bathroom fan was loud in our room. There seemed to be no sound insulation. The only good thing about the room was bed was comfy. We like the location and the food but would be wary of staying again.

Really beautiful property in a lovely location. I was there for a convention, and it provided a nice peaceful retreat upon returning for the evening. The decor was beautiful, the room was cosy and I felt very refreshed and relaxed. Food in the bar area was delicious and incredible portions. I’m really glad I chose this hotel.
