Could not find nay faults, only friendly people that help and offer excellent services. The Star does not look much pulling up, but is a super value hotel. Staff, superb, food excellent and locals different class. The room is basic, you would expect that, shower strong, bed comfy and facilities very good. Slept like a log, was so quiet, amazing location! WILL BE BACK!!!

Staff , facilities, spacious, just been refurbished so all was brand new. Fantastic breakfast. I'm gluten and dairy intolerant and they catered for it wonderfully.

Service in the bar when we arrived was appalling, waited for ages, staff no idea what they were doing. In room carpets all frayed around perimeter, window hinges broken and wouldn’t shut so very noisy. Sockets next to bed very difficult to reach inside cupboard. Breakfast not good, cold food, no fried eggs available, poor black pudding. Poor layout and hot water caddy labelled as “Tea” . None of the staff interested. Check out this morning , gave up waiting and left room card, had to return to sort carpark which booking.com said was£15 for 24 hrs. Receptionist said it was £17 but then gave us the £2 after I showed my confirmation email. I feel that none of the staff were interested at all, customer service abysmal.

The receptionist that checked me in was lovely but that is where it ended with the staff. I asked the chef in the morning if the egg had cream in it and he was so rude and aggressive that a chap who was nearby was equally shocked. When I checked out I wanted to ask where cars would collect and the receptionist couldn’t even make eye contact. I would not stay here again.
