From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be special. We had a court yard room and having travelled up on our motorbikes, loved the security of the parking within the courtyard space, visible from our bedroom window. The room was really comfortable and characterful, making the stay feel really special. The food was delicious, the staff were frinedly and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Brand new motel, clean, tidy, neat, friendly staff, good parking space, not too far from the city center. Great place to stop on your UK road trip. The bed was big, the coffee maker and kettle fine, bathroom clean and large.

The fire barrier door in the corridor jammed and we couldn´t open it as the weather strip jammed it. It had just been installed and came loose, this is expected when you open a new place. So it was not a problem

View from room was great. When breakfast was good it was very very good. But couldn't guarantee it. Service was excellent and complaints were dealt with professionally
Negative section of review
Had quite a few issues, all were dealt with in an efficient and satisfactory manner. Breakfast quality varied wildly, Rooms were only partially serviced, wet towels left outside room or day. Draught pumps in bar not working during whole of stay. Room was dated , windows rattled when windy . Cobwebs.

Friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. Lovely to be able to have a few drinks and then go up to bed. Breakfast great. Close to Beamish. Will definitely stay again.

Tiniest room ive ever stayed in, you step out of the shower on to the toilet. but at least it had both. big enough for one if you dont mind being a bit cramped. breakfast was a bit silly, theyll bring a basket of stuff from tescos in the morning to the room, but the room didnt have a table or a chair or anything so you just sit on the bed and eat your croissant i guess 🤷 super brightly lit buildings around, and the trains are very loud underground, doesnt look at all like the pictures.

The breakfast was the only good thing I had. Though it didn´t have Gluten free bread.

The lift was out of order! I had to carry my suitcase 3 stories up the stair and down again when I checked out. Crazy. The room had curtains that were off the hook. The bathroom shower was electric! and there was no visible switch to turn it on. The staff I fetched didn´t know how to turn it on either. The maintenance guy showed us the way to do so: there was a cord hanging from the roof by the toilet bowl, 8 feet from the shower, that if you tugged it, turned on the heater. Crazy and ancient.

The property provided the perfect number of rooms to suit our family (7 adults)

There wasn't enough toilet paper to last the weekend and there weren't any tea towels or dish soap.

Breakfast was very hit and miss. Cooked to order poached eggs were good.

Stayed for 5 days and the full English breakfast was was poor; not freshly cooked, not all items available and fried eggs were rubbery. The toaster did not work properly - it only toasted on one side. At the weekend they ran out of eggs, beans, bread, yoghurt, juices, cereals, fresh fruit and pastries. All visitors were complaining in the dining room. I complained to the staff member at reception who contacted the manager. We were not given a room with walk-in shower, near the lift as requested. After complaining, on day one, they said they had not received the request from Booking.com. They did, however, upgrade our room to one near the lift with walk-in shower on the Sunday afternoon - we were leaving on Tuesday morning so only had two nights in the room. The upgraded room was much better - cleaner, fresher and easier for people with mobility problems. My partner has mobility difficulties and could not shower for the first three days. We were not offered any rebate for the poor facilities or the poor breakfast.
