Positive section of review
The location is brilliant - fully retreat from urban life with easy access to nearby beaches (15mins walk to Icart for example). The hotel is in a typical European style and I was amazed by its antique decoration. The swimming pool is free to residents and there is a certain time slot for residents access only. The room size is not very spacious but surely acceptable (bear in mind it's a European-styled Hotel!) and the patio outside is certainly a bonus point. Breakfast was really great with both buffet and a la carte options. Hotel staff are always friendly and always wish to help, which made my stay a great experience.

The only issue discovered seems to be the wifi connection in my room, as it took a very long time to be connected on any of our devices, and it dropped off by itself from time to time. Even when connected the speed is not good enough for video play. It could be just the tricky location of the room causing this as in the bar, the wifi seems fine on my phone.

Location is in such a beautiful area. Right on the Loch as well. Our room had a wonderful view. Great choice for breakfast and extras you can pay for. Staff were relaxed and very friendly. Room was very comfortable too. Overall we had a very relaxing time

Corridors had a snell, like stale smoke but did not go to our room. Women's changing room at swimming pool could have been cleaner. Some clumps if hair on the floor. It is probably slightly overpriced

Beautiful property with everything you could need for a break away. Perfect for walking into Woolacombe and for the neighbouring North Devon attractions. Would definitely recommend 😊

Great location for visiting RHS Bridgewater and an easy taxi ride into central Manchester. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were always helpful.

Layout of shower room was odd, with shower and washbasin in one room and toilet in a separate room.

Room was a good size, had a nice view from the window. The bathroom amenities were good. Had a safe and tea and coffee making facitilies

Room was too hot, had to sleep with the open just to be able to sleep and the outside temperature was only 17 degrees so the weather was not to blame. The bed was very soft, that may be a personal preference but it was too soft for my husband and myelf. There was no bottled water in the room, you could buy water but none was complimntary. The room was very noisy, I appreciate that you have to have fire doors but it felt as though doors were banging from about 5.00am constantaly one after the other, which made it impossible to sleep. The last major flaw, there was a confernece at the hotel on the Monday that we arrived (this may had added to all the banging doors as this was a very large conference with lots of the members staying overnight) and as we checked in, we were told that the retaurant was closed for a private function, this we found unaceptable as one of the reasons that we booked the Devere, was that you had eating options, two restaurants and a bar option. One retsaurant was always closed on a Monday but then to be told upon check that we were down to a bar menu for that night when the hotel had contacted me a couple of days prior to our stay to ask if we wanted to upgrade our room and not mentioned this, I found to be very poor customer service.

The hotel is a lovely old building with lots of character and it includes a lift which is essential for the older generation.

Their breakfast menu did not note that coriander was included in some of their dishes. Very disappointing.
