It was a lovely location and the house was clean and comfortable. It had most things you needed for your stay in terms of self catering. We would stay again as there wasn't anything major to complain about. There are shops nearby in Matlock which is about a 10 minute drive away. The lake was beautiful even when it rained on the odd day during our stay and we had a daily visit from some if the birds on the lake which was lovely.

I think that it could do with a little TLC in terms of the decor but overall it was a comfortable stay and it was clean in the main. There were a couple of cobwebs but we can all miss those from time to time. There were cracked tiles in the en suite and the shower door does not seal properly either. the heated towel rail definitely needs replacing as it is very tired looking and paint is starting to peel off of it. In the main bathroom the shower attachment to the mixer taps in the bath leaked by way if fittings not being tightened up properly so it sprayed and leaked water everywhere if you tried to use it. Overall though it was clean and tidy.

Please provide more comfortable and better quality pillows. Also, the control knob on the heating rail in the bathroom didn’t seem to work so a lot of heat was being wasted.

it’s in a nice situation next to the park with a pretty seating area outside. The food was good.

The man at the desk is very unhappy. no sense of customer service. They don’t explain how the half board works so even though my daughter didn’t eat dinner or breakfast on the first night when we had paid for it, we were charged ‘extra’ on the second night. The floorboards of the room above were noisy and the room was cold.

Bed was terrible I could feel the springs .couldn't get much sleep , pillows not the best .. stayed in room 124 , probably the worst and most depressing view you'll ever get.. looking straight into the roof ..stayed in premier inn the night before beds were far more comfortable.

Generally it’s a tired hotel . Carpets in communal areas disgusting. Heating broken and had to ask for small additional heater for whole stay. No hairdryer in the room.. staff provided one. Even the toilet paper was the cheapest thinnest I’ve ever seen. Everything was being done to save every penny. Bar prices extortionate. Hotel was clean and Staff were responsive and pleasant - I think doing the best they could with what they had available.
